  • Publication number: 20240108369
Abstract: Snares for retrieval of medical devices from the body of an animal, medical assemblies, kits, and methods of retrieving a medical device from the body of an animal are described. An example snare comprises an outer sheath defining an outer sheath lumen; an elongate member disposed in the outer sheath lumen and having a longitudinal axis and at least one elongate member lumen; a capture member disposed and axially movable within the at least one elongate member lumen, the capture member defining a capture loop having a throat region and a portion extending along a plane that is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the elongate member; and a threader member disposed and axially movable within the at least one elongate member lumen, the threader member defining a threader loop. A handle includes a rotatable control member for deflecting a distal end of the outer sheath.

  • Publication number: 20240081708
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to a self-learning bladder volume monitoring system. The system can include a bladder volume (BV) system configured to measure an electrical impedance of a bladder region of a patient and determine a volume of fluid disposed therein using an impedance to bladder volume model (“By model”). Further, the system can measure a total body water (“TBW”) for the patient and modify the BV model to account for variations in TBW within the tissues surrounding the bladder providing a more accurate bladder volume measurement. The system can include a “training unit” which can include one of a user input interface, an automatic urine output monitoring system, an ultrasound system, and an intrabladder pressure system configured to verify a volume of fluid within or voided from the bladder and train the BV model.

  • Publication number: 20200068873
Abstract: A decoy control apparatus for organizing and displaying a spread of buoyant decoys in a free-surface marine environment, the decoy control apparatus including a pliant, water permeable sheet for subsurface deployment with a plurality of buoyant decoys attached thereto for surface display of the plurality of buoyant decoys grouped in a predetermined spread, a tethering assembly mounted to the sheet for removable attachment of a plurality of buoyant decoys thereto and a ballast attachment arrangement fixed to at least one end edge of the sheet for attachment of at least one ballast weight thereto to downwardly bias the sheet against the upward bias of the buoyant decoys, thereby stabilizing the sheet in a subsurface disposition intermediate the surface-borne buoyant decoys and the at least one ballast weight.

  • Patent number: 9381518
Abstract: Described herein is a process for preparing nano-suspensions, wherein the process comprises: providing an admixture of at least one active pharmaceutical compound, an aqueous dispersion medium, and milling media and applying thereto acoustic energy having a frequency of from about 10 hertz to 1000 hertz and which supplies a linear acceleration of from about 10 G's to about 100 G's (where “G” is the force of gravity) for a period sufficient to supply a nano-suspension having a D50 of less than about 1 micron, preferably less than about 500 nm. Described also are nano-suspensions having novel properties prepared via the inventive process.

  • Publication number: 20150134741
Abstract: The invention is generally directed to systems and methods for online product presentation, and more particularly to systems and methods for the interactive live/real-time online presentation and commerce of small products. One preferred embodiment is an online computing system that enables the interactive live/real-time presentation of small products of value with intricate detail such as jewelry or precious stones on client computing devices communicatively coupled to a wide area network, such as the Internet. The system includes a conferencing system having a video conferencing session communicatively coupled to the wide area network; a computer connected to a web cam, wherein the computer communicatively couples the web cam to the video conferencing session through the wide area network, and further wherein the web cam has a lens directed at the product; and a light box substantially surrounding said product.
