  • Patent number: 12033297
Abstract: A method of image retargeting is provided. The method includes obtaining a source image, obtaining a target size for a retargeted image based on the source image, generating a two-dimensional importance map for the source image, generating, based on the two-dimensional importance map and the target size, a warping mesh having a distortion metric below a threshold value, determining whether a size of the warping mesh corresponds to the target size, and based on the size of the warping mesh being determined to correspond to the target size, rendering the retargeted image by applying the warping mesh to the source image.

  • Patent number: 11982601
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method of cell sedimentation and retention of target cells, for example circulating tumour cells, CTC, from a fluid sample onto a solid support. The method comprises placing a fluid medium comprising the target cells in a fluid chamber, the fluid chamber having an open end sealed against a surface of the solid support. The method further comprises subjecting the fluid medium to centrifugation within the fluid chamber to induce sedimentation of the target cells and promote cell adhesion to the surface of the solid support. The method further comprises, post-centrifugation, positioning a fluid absorbing element in the fluid chamber to remove fluid from the fluid chamber. The method further comprises controlling a flow rate of the fluid being absorbed by the fluid absorbing element such that the sedimented cells are not detached from the surface of the solid support.

  • Patent number: 11940855
Abstract: Three components are used to adjust the CPU peak power based on the USB TYPE-C device states. These components include operating system (OS) Peak Power Manager, USB TYPE-C Connector Manager, and USB TYPE-C Protocol Device Driver. The USB TYPE-C Connector Manager sends a synchronous request to the OS Peak Power Manager when a USB TYPE-C power sink device is attached or detached, and the USB TYPE-C Protocol Device Driver sends a synchronous request to the Peak Power Manager when the power sink transitions device state. The Peak Power Manager takes power budget from the CPU when the USB TYPE-C connector is attached to a power sink and is active (e.g., high power device state), and gives back the power budget to the CPU for performance when the USB TYPE-C connector is either detached or the attached and power sink device is idle (lowest device state).

  • Publication number: 20240029287
Abstract: A method of feature matching in images captured from camera viewpoints uses the epipolar geometry of the viewpoints to define a geometrically-constrained region in a second image corresponding to a first feature in a first image; comparing the local descriptor of the first feature with local descriptors of features in the second image to determine respective measures of similarity; identifying, from the features located in the geometrically-constrained region, (i) a geometric best match and (ii) a geometric next-best match to the first feature; identifying a global best match to the first feature; performing a first comparison of the measures of similarity for the geometric best match and the global best match; performing a second comparison of the measures of similarity for the geometric best match and the geometric next-best match; and, if thresholds are met, selecting the geometric best match feature in the second image.
