  • Publication number: 20170052258
Abstract: A method and apparatus for tracking the position of an aircraft. A tracking device comprises a satellite navigation system receiver, a satellite communications transceiver, and a processor hermetically sealed within a housing attached on an outside of the aircraft. The satellite navigation system receiver is used to identify the position of the aircraft using navigation signals received from a satellite navigation system. The processor generates position information identifying the position of the aircraft as identified using the navigation system receiver. The processor sends the position information to a receiving station via a communications satellite in a low Earth orbit using the satellite communications transceiver. The position information is automatically generated by the processor and sent to the receiving station at a desired rate.

  • Publication number: 20170053357
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable media are disclosed for generating integrated data records by correlating source data records stored at different registry source data repositories. A set of source data records is retrieved based on execution of one or more search queries against a set of registry source data repositories. A data record matching rule is selected for execution on the set of source data records. The matching rule specifies one or more input properties, each of which specifies at least one data field designator, and optionally, a matching algorithm and an input property match threshold value. The matching rule is executed on pairwise combinations of source data records to obtain a set of matched source data records. An integrated data record is generated and populated with respective data from each of one or more of the matched source data records. The integrated data record is linked to each source record.

Abstract: An apparatus and method of delivering an alert from an aircraft to a search and rescue system. An alert from an aircraft is received via a communications satellite. The alert comprises identification information identifying the aircraft and position information identifying the position of the aircraft. In response to receiving the alert, an emulated distress radio beacon signal is generated. The emulated distress radio beacon signal comprises the identification information and the position information in a standard format of a signal generated by a distress radio beacon. The emulated distress radio beacon signal is broadcast from a location other than the aircraft as an emulated distress radio beacon transmission that is configured to be received and processed by the search and rescue system.

  • Patent number: 9576033
Abstract: A system and method for searching content and user interface for presenting results of the search are provided, wherein visual elements representing the content are distributed in three dimensions on a display, with the various axes representing criteria that relate to a central starting point of the search and the proximity to the central point indicating the degree of relevance. The outer bounds of the display contain a large amount of varied material of various types to allow a user to select content of a different type, with the content at the periphery of the display being essentially random and representing little or no link to the starting point of the search. Any displayed element may be selected, as a source for a next level search, in which case content relationships will be re-drawn, with the selected content used as the center point for a next level search.

  • Patent number: 9483335
Abstract: A service manages a plurality of virtual machine instances for low latency execution of user codes. The service can provide the capability to execute user code in response to events triggered on an auxiliary service to provide implicit and automatic rate matching and scaling between events being triggered on the auxiliary service and the corresponding execution of user code on various virtual machine instances. An auxiliary service may be configured as an event triggering service to detect events and generate event messages for execution of the user codes. The service can request, receive, or poll for event messages directly from the auxiliary service or via an intermediary message service. Event messages can be rapidly converted to requests to execute user code on the service. The time from processing the event message to initiating a request to begin code execution is less than a predetermined duration, for example, 100 ms.
