  • Publication number: 20240183503
Abstract: An article of manufacture for maximizing burn time of a jar candle. The lid features a dome with a top opening and a bottom opening. In its best mode of use, the lid is positioned on top of a burning jar candle, with the bottom opening resting on the rim of the jar candle. The lid captures heat at the surface of the burning wax, assisting in a full burn of the wax to the perimeter of the jar. A plurality of rim crescents encircles the bottom opening, to seal the lid's grip on the jar and to handle the lid when the dome is hot. The rim crescents have multiple ridges with sequentially smaller diameters, for fitting candle jars of varying sizes. Venting is provided by a cylindrical chimney extending downward from the top opening, as well as a plurality of holes in the dome.

  • Patent number: 11378251
Abstract: A candle shade is adapted to fit securely atop a candle vessel. The shade assumes the form of a double conical frustum. An interior shell makes direct contact with the candle vessel. The interior shell reflects radiative heat back to the candle surface while allowing smoke and gases to vent upward. Ideally, it is constructed from aluminum sheet metal and includes a band near the lower opening for an airtight seal. An exterior shell encloses the interior shell. The exterior shell protects the outer environment from the heat of the flame, especially so that the shade can be handled safely. Insulation is aided by handles on the exterior shell. Spacers affixed to the interior shell also create an insulating air space between the interior and exterior shells. The double-cone candle shade reduces candle “set” time by 65%.
