  • Publication number: 20050227817
Abstract: A simulated stair climbing-type exercise apparatus is provided having a frame, a resistance member, a transmission, a drive belt, a right pedal assembly, a left pedal assembly and a track mounted to the frame to provide a user with a vertically reciprocating exercise movement. The right pedal assembly, operating independently of the left pedal assembly, oscillates between an upper position at rest and a lower position under the weight of the user. The left pedal assembly, operating independently of the right pedal assembly, oscillates between an upper position at rest and a lower position under the weight of the user. The pedal assemblies remain parallel to a support surface throughout their entire range of motion, as the pedal assemblies travel from their upper position to their lower position on the tracks which can be either linear or curved.

  • Publication number: 20050209062
Abstract: An exercise treadmill is disclosed which includes various features to enhance user operation and to reduce maintenance costs. These features include handlebars with an upwardly curved center section and outwardly flared side portions along with pivoting rear legs for the treadmill frame. The control panel features include snap-in user trays and an overlay covering the numerical key pad along with an auxiliary control panel having a subset of user controls that are larger and more easy to use than the same controls on the main control panel. Maintenance enhancing features include the provision for access panels in the treadmill housing and a belt lubrication system that uses a priming pulse to clear the wax spraying nozzle along with using treadmill operating criteria for scheduling and operating the lubrication system. For injection molded parts such as the control panel, structural strength is enhanced by utilizing gas-assist injection molding to form structural ribs.

  • Publication number: 20050197431
Abstract: A three-dimensional printing materials system and method can produce both appearance models and small numbers of functional parts in an office environment. The method can include building cross-sectional portions of a three-dimensional article, and assembling the individual cross-sectional areas in a layer-wise fashion to form a final article. The individual cross-sectional areas can be built by using an ink-jet printhead to deliver an aqueous solvent or binder to an adhesive particulate mixture, causing the particles of the mixture to adhere together, and to previous cross-sectional areas. The binder can include at least one of nonaqueous organic monomeric compound, anionically ionizable polymer, cationic polymer, polymer, waterborne colloid, or inorganic solute.

  • Publication number: 20050172180
Abstract: The pBIST solution to memory testing is a balanced hardware-software oriented solution. pBIST hardware provides access to all memories and other such logic (e.g. register files) in pipelined logic allowing back-to-back accesses. The approach then gives the user access to this logic through CPU-like logic in which the programmer can code any algorithm to target any memory testing technique required. Because hardware inside the chip is used at-speed, the full device speed capabilities are available. CPU-like hardware can be programmed and algorithms can be developed and executed after tape-out and while testing on devices in chip form is in process.

  • Publication number: 20050164837
Abstract: In an elliptical step exercise apparatus a dynamic link mechanism can be used to vary the stride length of the machine. A control system can also be used to vary stride length as a function of various exercise and operating parameters such as speed and direction as well as varying stride length as a part of a preprogrammed exercise routine such as a hill or interval training program. • Publication number: 20050132263
Abstract: A memory system or a digital signal processor (DSP) includes single-bit-error detection hardware in its level two (L2) memory controller to mitigate the effects of soft errors. Error detection hardware detects erroneous data that is fetched by the central processing unit and signals the central processing unit. The parity is generated and checked only for whole memory line accesses. This technique is especially useful for cache memory. The central processing unit can query the memory controller as to the specific location that generated the error and decide the next course of action based on the type of data affected.

  • Publication number: 20050043145
Abstract: In an elliptical step exercise apparatus where stride length can be varied the various user programs can take advantage of this feature to provide for an enhanced workout. A control system can be used to implement a preprogrammed exercise routine such as a hill program where stride is shortened as the user goes up a simulated hill and lengthened as the user goes down the hill. In an interval training program, stride length can be increased and decreased at periodic intervals. In a cross training program, stride length can be decreased when the user is pedaling backwards and increased when the user is pedaling forwards.

  • Publication number: 20050027831
Abstract: A clone (replica) image of a computer system is loaded to a target computer system being built. A detection program running on the target computer system detects configuration information and attached devices and provides this information to a build program. The build program provides needed program components, applications, prerequisites and device drivers for the target computer according to build rules defined for the target computer type/model. Optionally, the detection program further detects that there are updates required for the detection program and installs the updates before proceeding with the build process.

The health information from the user is semantically processed in accordance with pre-specified health management rules to facilitate user self management of health. The natural language interface is a constrained natural language. The natural language interface interacts with a speech recognition system. The health management logic includes a common sense reasoning logic to semantically process NL input from the user according to rules to emulate common sense reasoning.
