Patent number: 12105690Abstract: A system for multipass sort includes a communication interface and a processor. The communication interface is configured to receive from a client device a request to sort a dataset that includes a plurality of rows. The processor is configured to perform a first sort pass on the dataset in part by: extracting prefixes associated with a first schema element associated with the dataset for the plurality of rows; and sorting the extracted prefixes utilizing an integer sort algorithm based on a sort order included in the request to sort the dataset, where sorting the extracted prefixes includes utilizing NULL values to resolve a tied range that includes at least two rows of the plurality of rows having a same extracted prefix.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2022Date of Patent: October 1, 2024Assignee: Databricks, Inc.Inventors: Timothy Armstrong, Arvind Sai Krishnan, Khayyam Guliyev

Patent number: 11599757Abstract: This disclosure relates to technology that provides dynamically configurable access to customized digital content associated with a machine-readable label (“MRL”). A MRL may be designed, printed and distributed to viewers. After distribution, the MRL may be collected by an owner who activates the collectible MRL and associates the MRL with customized content. At a time they are generated, a collectible MRL may be associated with a default scan destination. The default scan destination may be encoded in a data zone of the collectible MRL. The information encoded in a data zone of the collectible MRL may not be changeable after the MRL is distributed or fixed in tangible form. Patent number: 9855292Abstract: The current invention discloses novel approaches to help individuals defend against headaches and body pains with orally-delivered cyanocobalamin, methylcobalamin, adenosylcobalamin, and combinations thereof. Original clinical research conducted by the inventor on almost 2,000 humans yielded surprising and unexpected results showing differences in the frequency and severity of pains in the head and the body favoring cyanocobalamin patients over placebo. In one FDA-approved Phase III study on 1,551 patients, 4.4 percent of headaches and body pains were rated as “Severe” in the cyanocobalamin, group versus 11.5 percent in the placebo group. Once inside the body, cyanocobalamin is converted to methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin, but not to hydroxocobalamin.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 2013Date of Patent: January 2, 2018Inventor: Ernest Timothy Armstrong

Publication number: 20160037586Abstract: An induction heating apparatus includes a susceptor defining a reaction chamber. A housing is spaced from the susceptor opposite the reaction chamber and defines a port. A void space is defined between the housing and the susceptor. An induction coil extends through the port and is disposed within the void space for conducting an electric current to heat the susceptor to heat the reaction chamber. A flange comprises a metal material and is coupled to the housing at the port for sealing the port with the induction coil extending through the flange. An isolator is disposed between the flange and the housing to prevent the electric current from passing into the housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 10, 2014Publication date: February 4, 2016Inventors: Timothy Armstrong, Matthew Deeg, Jennifer Larimer, William Larson, Keith McCoy, Michael John Molnar, James A. Publication number: 20150306128Abstract: The current invention discloses novel uses of orally ingested cobalamins for the maintenance of a healthy and normal body weight and body mass index (BMI). Cobalamins support mitochondrial conversion of carbohydrates into chemical energy called ATP. Cells in the body, especially energy-hungry muscle and brain cells, use ATP as an energy source for many types of cellular functions. Simply put, cobalamins are the natural nutrients needed for cellular metabolism and the burning of calories. In a phase III, placebo-controlled, nutritional study with a total of 1,551 human test subjects, on average those obese people who took cobalamins lost weight and BMI, while those obese people who took placebo gained weight and BMI.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 23, 2014Publication date: October 29, 2015Inventor: Ernest Timothy Armstrong
