Abstract: A shovel that has an upper container and a closed lid. The lid is hinged so that once a load of gravel has been dug, the lid can be closed, and the shovel brought to the surface with the load of gravel largely intact. The device has a typical shovel bed onto which side panels have been added. A lid, shaped to fit the shape of the shovel, is attached to the shovel by a hinge. A curved bracket holds a spring that also attached to the lid to ensure the lid closes tightly. The shovel has a handle, as is typical for the standard shovels. However, the invention includes a pivoting handle attached to the straight handle that has a small cable attached. The other end of the cable attaches to the lid. The pivoting handle is used to open and close the lid.

Abstract: A portable electronic medical device and method for serially transmitting one or more records from the portable electronic medical device are disclosed. The portable electronic medical device includes a processor and memory for storing the one or more records, each record having one or more data entries. An XML (Extensible Markup Language) template may be parsed by the processor, wherein the XML template has one or more XML elements associated with the one or more data entries. The one or more records may be read as well as the XML elements appended to the associated data entries of each record by the processor such that the appended data entries are in XML format. The processor may then serially transmit the appended data entries of each record.

Abstract: Systems, client computing devices, server computing devices, and methods are disclosed for accessing medical devices, providing remote access to medical devices and/or remotely accessing medical devices. In one exemplary embodiment, client computing devices utilize protocol components that may be obtained from a server computing device via a network to communicate with medical devices in a communications protocol supported by the medical device.
