  • Publication number: 20240092413
Abstract: A folding bicycle trailer that converts between a bicycle trailer mode, a stroller mode, and a folded mode. The trailer has a frame having a first and second side frame assemblies, and a floor assembly. Each side frame assembly has a front wheel and a rear wheel. The front wheels are removed from the frame in the bicycle trailer mode, and are connected to the frame in the stroller and folded modes. A connection arm removably connects to a bicycle in bicycle trailer mode. The connection arm is removable in the stroller and folded modes, but can be connected to the trailer in a second position in those modes. The trailer has a removable push bar for stroller mode. The first and second side frame assemblies remain vertical but move closer to one another in the folded mode.

  • Publication number: 20070070571
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for compensating for lamp lumen depreciation. The method includes operating the lamp under rated wattage for a period towards the first part of operating life of the lamp. Operating wattage is increased at one or more later times. Energy savings are realized. The increases also restore at least some light lost by lamp lumen depreciation. The apparatus uses a timer to track operating time of the lamp. A few wattage changes made at spaced apart times can be made in a number of ways, including changing capacitance to the lamp, or using different taps on the lamp ballast.

  • Publication number: 20060274532
Abstract: An apparatus and method for a high intensity lighting fixture. In one aspect of the invention, a reflector frame is produced having a main portion generally following the surface of revolution of the type that produces a converging beam and a bottom portion of the type that would produce a generally less converging beam. A high total reflectance sheet or multiple piece reflecting layer is placed over the main portion and bottom portion. This allows a low reflective loss reflector of non-symmetrical shape.

  • Publication number: 20060187663
Abstract: An apparatus and method for a high intensity lighting fixture. In one aspect, instead of a spun aluminum bowl-shaped reflector, a die cast metal reflector frame, somewhat simulating a bowl shape, includes an inner surface with mounting structure. A high reflectance sheet or plurality of high reflectance inserts are placed onto the mounting structure to create a reflecting surface. This allows high customability of the reflecting surface and minimizes light loss.

  • Publication number: 20060181880
Abstract: An apparatus and method for keeping a high intensity discharge arc tube relatively horizontal in a light fixture regardless of aiming orientation of the light fixture towards a target. In one aspect, the light source is mounted in an independently pivotal yoke in the light fixture. A gearing arrangement automatically proportionally pivots the light source relative to any pivoting motion of the fixture over a range of motion such that a selected light source orientation can be approximately maintained regardless of aiming orientation of the fixture.

  • Publication number: 20060175987
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method for increasing life of a high intensity lighting fixture light source. In one aspect, the method involves installing a new HID lamp in the fixture in combination with retrofitting a circuit that operates the lamp at a reduced wattage over a substantial period of operation time to save energy. In another aspect, the circuit comprises switchable capacitants adopted to operate the lamp at a reduced wattage over a substantial period of operation time. In another aspect of the invention, instead of retrofitting, the entire lighting fixture could be replaced at the end of a predetermined operating period and replaced with a balasting system that includes switchable levels of capacitants to reduce operating wattage to the lamp for at least the first substantial operating period.

  • Publication number: 20060176709
Abstract: An apparatus and method for checking alignment of a lighting fixture comprising a lighting fixture with a housing, reflective surface in the housing, light source in the housing, and a glass lens over an opening into the housing. A marking or indicia is placed on the glass lens in a known orientation with structure inside the housing that is visible from outside of the housing. By line of sight viewing of the marking or indicia, even from a distance away, an alignment of the marking or indicia with the structure inside the housing, the alignment or aiming orientation of the fixture can be determined. This can be used to check alignment of individual fixture, or can be used to check alignment of an array of fixtures, if the array has a known reference correlation to the fixture with the marking or indicia.

  • Publication number: 20060176695
Abstract: A high intensity discharge (HID) light fixture includes a reflector frame which supports an independent high reflectivity reflecting surface. The reflector frame supports a glass lens with anti-reflective coatings on its surfaces and a visor or extension that also supports an independent high reflectivity reflecting surface. The high reflectivity reflecting surface has various sections that adjust portions of the beam created by the fixture to better place light on a target area. The reflector frame is attachable to a lamp cone. An adjustable knuckle attaches between to a cross arm on a pole and the lamp cone. An HID lamp, when mounted in the lamp cone, has its arc tube substantially surrounded by the high reflectivity reflecting surfaces of the reflector frame and visor. A lamp positioning mechanism automatically adjusts orientation of the arc lamp over a range of pivot angles for the lamp cone relative the knuckle.

  • Publication number: 20060176700
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for increasing usable light from a high intensity lighting fixture to a target area without an increase in energy use. In one aspect, the circuit is retrofitted into an existing lamp circuit that allows selective change in operating power or wattage to the lamp, over a substantial period of operation time, to save energy. In one aspect operating wattage of the lamp would be reduced. In another aspect of the invention, reduction in operating wattage is accomplished by a switchable capacitance in electrical communication with the lamp circuit.
