  • Publication number: 20210192023
Abstract: A method of authenticating an entity comprises generating, at a one-time pad authenticator associated with a user, a first code corresponding to a first part of a first one-time pad stored on the one-time pad authenticator, the first point having a starting address within the first-one time pad. The method comprises transmitting, from a user device to the entity, a request for the entity to authenticate itself, the request comprising the starting address. In response to receiving the request, the method comprises generating, by the entity, a second code corresponding to the first part of a second one-time pad stored on the entity, wherein the first part of the second one-time pad is determined using the received starting address. The method further comprises transmitting the second code to the user device; and receiving, at the user device, the second code for comparison with the first code, wherein, if the first code is equal to the second code, the entity is authenticated.

  • Patent number: 10979916
Abstract: A mobile communications network comprising a plurality of nodes, each node being disposed on a vehicle, wherein the plurality of nodes are configured to be connected to any one or more of a plurality of mobile devices, and the mobile communications network further comprising a planning and control module configured to: receive or obtain first location data representative of a first location of at least one of the plurality of mobile devices and receive, periodically or otherwise, respective updated location data representative of the current location of the respective mobile devices; receive, periodically or otherwise, second data from each of the nodes, the second data being representative of the respective coverage capability of the nodes; receive data representative of a coverage requirement associated with a specified one or more of the mobile devices; and generate, using the updated location data and the second data, an output to cause the coverage capability of one or more of the nodes to be adjusted

  • Publication number: 20200358613
Abstract: A remote authentication device includes a memory. The memory includes a one time pad comprising a series of bits. The memory includes circuitry arranged to retrieve a plurality of the bits from the one time pad. The circuitry is arranged to form a key from the plurality of bits and to use the key in a hash to generate an authentication code. The retrieval of the bits, forming of the key, and generation of the authentication code are repeated a plurality of times using a different plurality of bits from the one time pad.

  • Patent number: 4787908
Abstract: An endoprosthetic metatarsal-phalangeal replacement joint is described. The joint includes a distal metatarsal component having a part-spherical convex distal superior phalangeal articular surface, and two inferior "side-by-side" sesamoidal articular surfaces, separated by an intersesamoidal ridge. The proximal phalangeal component is provided with a proximal circular surface at least a major portion of which has a part spherical concave surface having similar radius of curvature as the distal superior phalangeal surface of the metatarsal component. Natural, natural-resurfaced or prosthetic sesamoids are secured to a flexible mesh element arranged to be secured between the phalangeal component and the phalanx so that the sesamoids are positioned for articulation with the two inferior sesamoidal surfaces of the distal metatarsal component.
