Abstract: An image transmission device and system includes an image transmission device for use with a user-supplied communications and camera devices and a converter for use with another communications device and display. The image transmission device includes a cradle for respectively securing a cellular phone and camera and circuitry for electrically connecting the two. Images recorded by the camera are compressed by cradle circuitry and transmitted with the phone to a second phone remote from the first. The cradle includes mechanisms for holding phones of various configurations and for being mounted to a tripod. The system further includes a converter device for connection to the second phone and adapted to transmit the images to a display such as a television or to a recording device. Therefore, the image transmission system enables a live event to be transmitted to a remote location for real time viewing by another user.
