    Abstract: A method of inspecting a hole in an object with at least one camera probe mounted on a coordinate positioning machine includes: for a plurality of different viewpoints obtaining at least one image of a silhouette of the hole from a first end of the hole, so as to obtain a set of silhouette images of the hole, the hole being backlit so as to form the silhouette, and using the set of silhouette images of the hole to infer at least part of the boundary of the hole at a given height.
