  • Publication number: 20130112521
Abstract: The invention relates to a clutch mechanism for the transmission of a rotary movement from a gear arrangement comprising a first gear member and a second gear member. The first gear member is rotatable about a longitudinal axis but axially fixed wherein the first gear member, upon rotation, is arranged for translatively moving a second gear member which is prevented from rotating. The clutch mechanism comprises a circumferential shoulder arranged at the second gear member and at least one or a number of resilient clutch fingers with respective inclined inner surfaces arranged at the first gear member, the shoulder arranged for increasingly pressing against the inclined surfaces thereby flexing the clutch fingers outward when the shoulder reaches the clutch fingers in the course of its translation. The clutch mechanism further comprises tube arranged around the clutch fingers, the tube having a number of internal longitudinal splines for engaging the flexed-out clutch fingers.

  • Publication number: 20100036319
Abstract: An auto injector including: a housing; an outlet portion with a needle (110) moveable relative to the housing; a container (104) within the housing for containing medicament; and an actuatable deployment mechanism configured to deploy the outlet portion by moving the outlet portion relative to the housing and to eject medicament contained in the container through the outlet portion. The auto injector is configured to store a volume of fluid and includes a filling mechanism configured to expel the volume of fluid from the outlet portion and subsequently to draw medicament through the outlet portion and into the container. An adaptor (112) fits to the auto injector so as to cover the needle and includes a puncture member configured to puncture a vial, the puncture member providing fluid communication to the needle.

  • Publication number: 20100016793
Abstract: An injection device 110 is described having a housing 112 that receives a syringe 114 having a needle 118, wherein the syringe is supported in a syringe carrier 150. The injection device 110 has a removable cap 190. The syringe 114 and syringe carrier 150 are biased by a return spring 126 from an extended position in which the needle 118 extends from the housing 112 through an exit aperture 128 to a retracted position in which it does not. The syringe carrier 150 abuts a surface inside the removable cap 190 which prevents forward movement of the syringe carrier 150 when the cap is in place. The injection device is less prone to failure than prior art devices and is safer should failure occur.

  • Publication number: 20080312602
Abstract: An injection device 110 is described having a housing 112 and a housing closure means 130. The injection device 110 houses a syringe 114 having a needle 118 which is sealed by a boot 117. The housing closure means 130 is arranged so that the boot 117 can be connected to the housing closure means 130 simply, but cannot be removed from the housing closure means 130. The housing 112 and housing closure means 130 are arranged so that upon rotation of the housing closure means 130, the housing closure means 130 member first rotates relative to the housing and then moves away from the housing. The injection device is simple to use and manufacture.
