Abstract: A microservice infrastructure that securely maintains the currency of computing platform microservices implemented within a process virtual machine is provided. The computing platform microservices maintained by the infrastructure may include protected methods that provide and control access to components of the underlying computing environment. These components may include, for example, storage devices, peripherals, and network interfaces. By providing a software-defined microservice layer between these hardware components and workflows that specify high-level application logic, the embodiments disclosed herein have enhanced flexibility and scalability when compared to conventional technology.

Because the communications link between the client and the boot server is secure, an identifier for that uniquely identifies the client can be passed to the boot server, and the boot server is operable to serve a boot image to the client computer on the basis of the uniquely identified client computer.

Abstract: In an information handling system (IHS), IHS problem diagnosis and repair includes receiving configuration items of the IHS from a configuration management database, collecting a set of rules and corresponding actions relating to the configuration items of the IHS, the set of rules and corresponding actions collected from an expert system, collecting a prioritization of the set of rules and corresponding actions, filtering the set of rules and corresponding actions per the prioritization and based on a plurality of preferences, and sending the set of rules and corresponding actions to the IHS.

Abstract: A system and method for hot cloning in a distributed network is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for cloning a virtual machine from a source system to a target system includes freezing writes to a storage file having storage blocks such that subsequent writes create new storage blocks for the original virtual machine. The method further including freezing writes to a memory content such that subsequent writes store in buffers. The method further including copying the memory content onto the target system wherein the copied memory content creates a clone. The method further including unfreezing the memory content by merging the writes stored in the buffers and unfreezing the writes to the storage file such that subsequent writes take place normally. The method further including configuring the clone based on the target system. The method further including creating a new storage block for any writes to the storage file whereby the new storage block is not shared.
