  • Publication number: 20230306873
Abstract: A CPR training manikin is provided. The manikin can have a size and shape of the torso area of a human, including a head and a chest area. The head and chest area can be operatively configured to generally mimic a human head, chest, respiratory and cardiopulmonary morphology. Internal to the manikin a chest compression plate is joined to a main compression spring and compressed when chest compressions are applied to the torso area. Electrical circuits can measure, record, and/or report depth of chest compression as well as proper hand placement during chest compression.

  • Patent number: 9852659
Abstract: A portable medical training manikin with a hollow torso body with a chest plate having slotted openings provided to enable realistic flexing of the chest plate along hinges engaged with a chest compression piston. The torso body has a realistic skin covering the torso and interconnected at a hinge. A chest compression piston supports and resists chest compressions performed by a user. The chest compression piston is engaged with the central chest plate of the torso body by a quick release mechanism having detent locks for securing the piston engaged with the chest plate. A two-piece tiltable head configuration enables detachment of the back half of the head piece, and inversion for nested stacking within the front half head piece. The hollow torso body is likewise configured for convenient stacking, including the compression pistons, in a carrying container.

  • Patent number: 9092995
Abstract: A medical training device with an improved clam shell type torso arrangement. An improved two-piece tiltable head feature, including mechanical mounting structure for secure attachment of an improved lung bag or face shield. The head also includes an improved nose feature to provide a more realistic representation of nasal cartilage, and an improved neck assembly. Additionally, an electro-mechanical indicator device is provided to show real time feedback of the CPR compression rate being administered by a student on the training manikin of the present application. The feedback by the device may be provided preferably by visual indicators, but may also have, or alternatively have, audio indicators or signals, such as words or sounds, to indicate whether or not the student is compressing within the preferred rate range, and/or the degree of variance in the student's compression sequences.

  • Publication number: 20140170622
Abstract: An improved training pad connector device for connecting a disposable electrode training pad to an electrical cable using a very low profile, approximately 0.16 of an inch, which does not interrupt the external surface or dimensions of the training pad. The connector includes a top piece and a bottom piece forming a unitary body for capturing the electrical contacts and extending cable between the interconnected top and bottom pieces, and for engaging the electrode training pad on an extending tab. The top and bottom pieces of the connector and the electrode training pad each include aligned openings for receiving a removable pin. The removable pin engages the connector in an interference fit to secure the pad and connector together.

  • Patent number: 6318247
Abstract: An appliance for preparation of heated and stirred beverages and foods has a vessel and a base, with a mixing element rotationally driven within the vessel by magnetic coupling with a driving magnet array attached to an electric motor and covered by a cap. The mixing element is mounted on a rolling contact bearing assembly which fits upon a pin which extends from the cap through an opening in the vessel bottom. The vessel bottom is preferably a cast metal piece with internal cavities in which one or more heating elements are mounted whereby a liquid in the vessel is simultaneously heated and stirred or whipped. Electrical power to a mixing motor and heating elements is controlled either by a manually resettable thermostat, or by a self-latching relay controlled switching circuit which includes a blocking diode to supply rectified AC current to the motor for low torque start ups which will not decouple the magnetic flux drive of the mixing element.
