  • Patent number: 4186424
Abstract: A photoflash lamp unit having an array of eight flash lamps located on each of two opposing sides thereof. Each array comprises two regions, upper and lower, of four lamps. A pivotal mounting device at a lower end of the unit permits the four lamps in one upper region to be fired after which the entire unit is rotated and the four lamps in the remaining, opposing upper region are fired. The unit is then inverted and the eight lamps in the two previously lower regions are fired in the manner described above.

  • Patent number: 4158493
Abstract: An elongated flash lamp assembly which is sequentially advanced through a camera to permit each of the lamps within the assembly to become aligned with the camera's fixed reflector. Several heat-responsive (e.g. fusible) covers are located on the assembly's housing to permit the above advancement only after each cover has become physically deformed by the heat from the respective flash lamp located adjacent thereto. A mechanism for advancing the assembly is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4153365
Abstract: A low-cost, portable copier for exposing a photosensitized sheet through a stencil placed thereon. The sheet and stencil, in the form of a "sandwich", are positioned on the copier's cover member which is then pivoted to a closed position against the copier's housing. A flash lamp article, including a tapered casing having a percussively-ignitable flash lamp therein, is inserted within the housing and activated by a resilient cantilever member located therein.

  • Patent number: 4136377
Abstract: An electrically-activated photoflash lamp unit including a linear array of lamps positioned within a housing which pivots about the unit's coupling means. The coupling means includes an elongated body member having a connector tab at one end thereof for plugging within a camera's socket. Sequential activation of the lamps is provided by flash-activating pulses from the camera's power source which pass up through the elongated body member and pivot location of the housing to each lamp.

  • Patent number: 4135227
Abstract: A flash lamp assembly for use with a camera and the power source associated therewith. The assembly includes several leadless, capacitively-ignited flash lamps retained within a longitudinal, light-transmitting housing and activated by the passage of electrical energy through the housing either in the form of a capacitive discharge or by direct connection to a pair of resilient contacts. Spaced conductive means located about each flash lamp receive the energy and capacitively ignite the lamp. Means for electrically connecting each lamp to the above power source are also described and include a mechanism for sequentially advancing the assembly's housing therein.

  • Patent number: 4129380
Abstract: A portable low-cost copier comprises a housing having a bottom surface at which a photosensitized sheet and an original can be disposed. Disposed within the housing is a chemical flashlamp which is ignited to make the copy.

  • Patent number: 3931536
Abstract: The arc tube of an electric discharge lamp is surrounded by a reflective filter. The filter selectively reflects arc discharge radiation outside the visible range to which the arc tube wall is transparent and to which the arc plasma is optically thick, so that the reflected radiation is preferentially absorbed by the plasma and not by the arc tube wall.
