  • Publication number: 20060075437
Abstract: A remote jack pack has a video input jack that receives a video signal, an audio input jack that receives an audio signal, a video output that transfers the video signal to a television, an audio output that transfers the audio signal to the television, and a control output that automatically supplies control signals to the television. The control signals indicate the availability of the video and audio signals for processing by the television. The television has a tuner that supplies video and audio signals of a selected channel, a video connector that receives video from the remote jack pack, an audio connector that receives audio from the remote jack pack, a control connector that receive control signals from the remote jack pack, and a processor that is responsive to the control signals to selectively control display of the video and audio signals from the tuner and the video and audio signals from the video and audio connectors.

  • Publication number: 20050132413
Abstract: A tuner of a digital television signal translator tunes to receive an RF digital television signal on a first selected television channel. A demodulator provides a baseband digital television signal from the RF digital television signal to which the tuner is tuned. The baseband television signal includes a data component identifying the first selected channel. A data replacer replaces the data component identifying the first selected channel with a data component identifying a second selected channel different from the first selected channel. The output of a modulator is modulated by the baseband television signal including the data component identifying the second selected channel for transmission as a digital television signal on the second selected channel.

  • Publication number: 20050094752
Abstract: A low cost DTV translator, which translates an incoming signal on channel A to an outgoing signal on channel B, includes a transmitter pre-equalizer whose taps are configured with tap values that pre-distort a signal so as to negate distortion caused by a high power amplifier and emission mask filter at the output of the DTV translator. This pre-distortion is accomplished by using the transmitter of the DTV translator to provided a reference signal and to use the receiver of the DTV translator as a reference receiver for the reference signal to thereby avoid the use of a more expensive external reference receiver.
