Abstract: An illumination appliance includes an illumination device, a controller, and a wiring system. The illumination device includes a plurality of interconnected hollow struts, a plurality of semi-reflective sheets, and a plurality of banks of light emitting devices (LEDs). The plurality of interconnected hollow struts collectively define a polygonal body such as a cube with openings. The plurality of interconnected hollow struts individually have an inward facing surface. The plurality of semi-reflective sheets close the openings to define an enclosure within the polygonal body. The plurality of banks of LEDs are mounted on the inward facing surfaces. Some of the light emitted by the LEDs is internally reflected and some is transmitted by the semi-reflective sheets. The controller is for controlling operation of the banks of LEDs. The wiring system electrically couples the controller to the LEDs and routes through the hollow struts to individually connect to the banks of LEDs.

Abstract: An apparatus and system for surveillance via an imaging system within an enclosure. The enclosure is capable of being mounted to any number of locations such as light poles, power poles, buildings, awnings, and overhangs. The imaging system is capable of recording to local storage, provide live images or also transmitting lower quality images or video clips based on additional sensors such as motion sensors. The imaging system can transmit the images or video clips over a network connection that can include cellular or other wired or wireless connectivity. The apparatus and system can be powered by any number of sources including AC, DC, solar and wind energy.

A party that receives constructive dividend payments also has a corresponding short position in a withholding financial instrument. A clearing house computer system adjusts the value of a withholding financial instrument in response to receipt of constructive dividend payments. The clearing house computer system determines a variation margin amount for the short party and processes a variation margin payment from the short party to a withholding account through the variation margin settlement system.

Abstract: A device, method, and system for the detection of ribosome inactivating protein activity, including the ricin toxin, in a sample. According to one embodiment, the ribosome inactivating protein in the sample removes an adenine from a labeled DNA substrate to create an abasic site. An AP lyase can then cleave the DNA substrate at the abasic site, allowing the fluorophore located at or near one end of the DNA substrate and the quencher at or near the other end of the DNA substrate to spatially separate. Once the fluorophore and the quencher are sufficiently separated, the fluorophore will emit a fluorescence signal. Increasing fluorescence, indicating ribosome inactivating protein activity, will be monitored in real time using a detection system.

Abstract: A weightless articulating door mount for a gaming machine is disclosed. The weightless articulating door mount has a four link mechanism and a cam. A biasing mechanism interacts with the weightless articulating door mount through the cam and provides a uniform force counteracting the weight of the door/monitor. With the door/monitor effectively weightless, the door may be opened and will remain in place absent any further disturbance.
