  • Patent number: 8944018
Abstract: A cooling apparatus for an integrated exhaust manifold includes: a first cooling jacket configured to surround a portion of an exhaust manifold; and a second cooling jacket configured to surround another portion of the exhaust manifold. The first cooling jacket includes a first portion sitting atop the second cooling jacket and a second portion adjacent the second cooling jacket and positioned lower than the first portion.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 26, 2013
Date of Patent: February 3, 2015
    Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLC
Inventors: Jody Michael Slike, Paul Thomas Reinhart, Timothy Gerald Taylor, Todd Jay Brewer
  • Patent number: 8887703
Abstract: Systems and methods for ventilating engine crankcase gases are described. In one example, crankcase gases flow from a first cylinder bank to a second cylinder bank via tubes placed between exhaust gas manifold runners. The systems and method may improve crankcase gas ventilation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 10, 2011
Date of Patent: November 18, 2014

  • Patent number: 6019089
Abstract: An orientation clip (42) has an axially- and circumferentially-united attachment with a fuel injector (13) to orient the fuel injector circumferentially within a cup (32) on a fuel manifold (30). The clip has axially extending orientation tabs (46) that pass through open spaces provided by notches (56) in the rim of the cup to circumferentially locate the clip to the cup, and hence the fuel injector to the cup.
