  • Publication number: 20180168995
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising core particles in a cosmetically or pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, wherein the core particles comprise a heat-curable coating which is the reaction product of a vinyl-functional silicone polymer, a hydride-functional crosslinker, and a metal catalyst.

  • Publication number: 20160374931
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for forming coated particles, comprising the steps of: agitating a volume of core particles while heating to a constant average temperature of about 40° C. Once particles are generally evenly mixed, with no apparent agglomeration, the vinyl-functional silicone polymer, hydride-functional crosslinker, and metal catalyst are combined in a premix under continuous propeller-mixing. The vinyl-functional silicone polymer, hydride-functional crosslinker, and metal catalyst premix is then siphoned into the main vessel, containing the heated core particles, at rate that ensures no clumping or agglomeration of the particulates. Once even coating has been achieved, the main vessel is heated to an average temperature of about 80° C., then cooled back down to room temperature (about 20° C.-28° C.). The coated material is then passed through a 45 ?m sieve to remove any large particulates that may be present.

  • Patent number: 9034302
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a composition and method for protecting a keratinous substrate from harmful UV rays by applying onto the substrate a composition containing: (a) at least one oil phase thickening agent chosen from an activated clay; (b) at least one substantially solid form dispersing aid; (c) at least one non-volatile solvent; (d) at least one inorganic sunscreen active; (e) at least one emulsifier; (f) at least one volatile solvent; and (g) water, and wherein (a) and (b) are present in the composition in a ratio by weight ranging from greater than 1:4 to less than 1:10.

  • Publication number: 20140066271
Abstract: Physical therapy devices, including vertically extending rear support structures, arm pivots supported by rear support structures at positions vertically spaced from supporting surfaces, arms pivotally supported by the arm pivots, seats resting on the arms at distances selected to apply portions of users' bodyweights the arms when the user is seated in the seat, foot rests supported above supporting surfaces at heights selected to support a forward portion of the user's foot when the user is seated in the seat, and knee saddles attached to the arms. In some examples, the knee saddles including a knee support positioned at a height selected to rest on the user's knee when seated in the seat. In some examples, the arms extend horizontally from a pivot end to a swing end distal the arm pivot. Some examples may additionally or alternatively include adjustably positioned arm pivots. Some examples may include biasing members.
