  • Patent number: 11987522
Abstract: Ion exchangeable glasses containing SiO2, Al2O3, Na2O, MgO, B2O3, and P2O5 are provided. The compressive stresses of these ion exchanged glasses are greater than 900 megapascals (MPa) at a depth of 45 or 50 microns (?m) with some glasses exhibiting a compressive stress of at least 1 gigaPascals (GPa). The ion exchange rates of these glasses are much faster than those of other alkali aluminosilicate glasses and the ion exchanged glass is resistant damage to impact damage. A method of ion exchanging the glass is also provided.

  • Patent number: 11932577
Abstract: Glasses that undergo rapid ion exchange. The glasses comprise SiO2, Al2O3, P2O5, Na2O, K2O, and, in some embodiments, at least one of MgO and ZnO. The glass may, for example, be ion exchanged in a molten KNO3 salt bath in less than 1 hour at temperatures in a range from about 370° C. to about 390° C. to achieve a depth of surface compressive layer of greater than about 45 microns, or in a range from about 0.05t to about 0.22t, where t is the thickness of the glass. The glasses are fusion formable and, in some embodiments, compatible with zircon.

  • Patent number: 11932833
Abstract: Peroxide treatment compositions for use in laundry capable of providing sanitization through the wash e.g., for use with a detergent, where a peroxide activator is stabilized without the presence of phosphorus-containing compounds (e.g., phosphorus-containing stabilizers), through use of a nonionic surfactant (e.g., alkoxylated alcohol) with a cloud point above 45° C. Use of a single nonionic surfactant, or a surfactant package that may include a small fraction (e.g., less than 0.5%) of sodium lauryl sulfate or another anionic surfactant has been found to be surprisingly effective at stabilizing the peroxide/activator combination, even where water content may be 85% or greater. The composition can have a pH of 5 or less (e.g., 3 to 4). The composition may be free of other anionic surfactants, cationic surfactants, zwitterionic surfactants, amphoteric surfactants, magnesium salts, borates and boric acid, hydroxides, chelating agents, various amine oxides, ethoxylated amines, and the like.

The glass article has a molar ratio of Al2O3:(R2O+RO) greater than or equal to 0.9, where R2O is a sum of alkali metal oxides in mol % and RO is a sum of divalent cation oxides in mol %.

  • Publication number: 20230315655
Abstract: A new synchronization system synchronizes data exchanges between producer processes and consumer processes which may be on the same or different processors in a multiprocessor system. The synchronization incurs less than one roundtrip of latency - in some implementations, in approximately 0.5 roundtrip times. A key aspect of the fast synchronization is that the producer’s data store is followed without delay with the updating of a barrier on which the consumer is waiting.

  • Publication number: 20230289242
Abstract: A new transaction barrier synchronization primitive enables executing threads and asynchronous transactions to synchronize across parallel processors. The asynchronous transactions may include transactions resulting from, for example, hardware data movement units such as direct memory units, etc. A hardware synchronization circuit may provide for the synchronization primitive to be stored in a cache memory so that barrier operations may be accelerated by the circuit. A new wait mechanism reduces software overhead associated with waiting on a barrier.
