  • Patent number: 11662538
Abstract: A telecommunications device includes a rack defining right, left, front, rear, top, and bottom sides, the rack defining mounting locations in a stacked arrangement from the bottom to the top, the mounting locations for receiving modules defining connection locations. A cable storage bay is located at one of the right and left sides of the rack and defines front and rear cable storage areas. Both the front and rear cable storage areas include cable management structures for managing and guiding cables toward and away from the connection locations. A trough is defined at the top of the rack, the trough configured for extending cables to other racks in a front to rear direction, the trough also defining a cable drop-off communicating with the cable storage bay for extending cables to either of the front or rear cable storage areas for further connection to the connection locations.

  • Patent number: 9500831
Abstract: A payout cassette for a cable, which extends between first and second ends, stores and pays-out the cable. The cassette includes a storage area and a transitioning area. The storage area stores a stored portion of the cable between first and second generally parallel cable constraining surfaces that are spaced a distance from each other. The distance is sufficiently large to allow a single cable thickness to slide between the cable constraining surfaces and is sufficiently small to prevent another cable thickness from crossing over the signal cable thickness within the storage area. Thus, the storage area includes a single cable layer and thereby keeps the cable from becoming tangled. The transitioning area is adapted to transition the cable from the stored portion within the storage area to a paid-out portion of the cable that is external to the storage area. The transitioning area is at least partially positioned within an interior of the storage area.

  • Patent number: 9146376
Abstract: A rack includes a first termination block disposed at the first side of the rack. The termination block houses a termination arrangement including a plurality of sliding adapter modules. The adapter modules are configured to slide between a non-extended position and an extended position. The adapter modules move away from the rack when slid to the extended position. The adapter modules have first ports facing towards the top of the rack and second ports facing towards the bottom of the rack. Certain types of racks also have a cable storage arrangement disposed at the front of the rack.

  • Patent number: 9069150
Abstract: A fiber optic telecommunications device includes a frame and a fiber optic module including a rack mount portion, a center portion, and a main housing portion. The rack mount portion is stationarily coupled to the frame, the center portion is slidably coupled to the rack mount portion along a sliding direction, and the main housing portion is slidably coupled to the center portion along the sliding direction. The main housing portion of the fiber optic module includes fiber optic connection locations for connecting cables to be routed through the frame. The center portion of the fiber optic module includes a radius limiter for guiding cables between the main housing portion and the frame, the center portion also including a latch for unlatching the center portion for slidable movement. Slidable movement of the center portion with respect to the rack mount portion moves the main housing portion with respect to the frame along the sliding direction.
