Publication number: 20240076320Abstract: The present invention is directed to methods of purifying viral proteins for use in vaccine compositions. The method includes a capture step and a polish step. The capture step includes passing a solution containing a protein over a hydrophobic interaction chromatography column and eluting a crude protein eluate from the column. The polish step includes passing the crude protein eluate over a ligand affinity chromatography column and recovering a first flow through intermediate, passing the first flow through intermediate over an anion exchange chromatography column and recovering a second flow through intermediate, and passing the second flow through intermediate over another ligand affinity chromatography column and recovering a purified protein eluate. The present invention also provides a purified protein having a hydrophobic membrane domain that is produced by a baculovirus expression system in cultured insect cells, wherein the purified protein has a purity of greater than 85%.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2023Publication date: March 7, 2024Inventors: Timothy Hahn, Sender Aspelund

Patent number: 11203022Abstract: A grinding machine for grinding food-products, such as meat or the like, includes an orifice plate at the outlet of a grinding head. The orifice plate has collection passages that discharge a mixture of soft material and hard material through the orifice plate. A separator assembly, including a separator screw, separation chamber, metering auger, and metering cone, is located downstream of the orifice plate for separating the soft material from the hard material. The metering auger is fixedly coupled to a distal end of the separator screw and has a reduced diameter relative to the separator screw. The metering auger advances in a downstream direction the hard material of the mixture of soft material and hard material.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2017Date of Patent: December 21, 2021Assignee: PROVISUR TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: E. William Wight, Timothy Hahn, Kyle Schinkowsky, Christopher Albrecht, Nathan Levande

Patent number: 11173497Abstract: A grinding machine for grinding food-products, such as meat or the like, includes an orifice plate at the outlet of a grinding head. The orifice plate has collection passages that discharge a mixture of soft material and hard material through the orifice plate. A separator assembly, including a separator screw and separation chamber, is located downstream of the orifice plate for separating the soft material from the hard material. A ring adjustment assembly includes a ring valve having an internal conical portion in communication with a nose portion of the separator screw, and a ring valve carrier configured to reciprocally displace the ring valve in an axial direction relative to the separator screw so as to vary a gap between the nose portion of the separator screw and the internal conical portion of the ring valve. Adjustment of the gap distance determines an amount of the hard material that is passed toward the discharge outlet.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2017Date of Patent: November 16, 2021Assignee: PROVISUR TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: E. Patent number: 8764722Abstract: A waistband structure for an absorbent article is disclosed. The waistband structure extending across at least one of the front and back waist regions and is composed of a filler material and a waistband material positioned over the filler material. The waistband structure may be bonded to at least one of the front and back waist regions via a bond pattern. The bond pattern may vary position in the longitudinal direction and have at least one peak and one valley across the respective waist region. Typically, a distance between the peak and the valley in the bond pattern is between 5 and 100 mm. The bond pattern results in a z-directional height of the waistband structure varying on the respective waist region.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2011Date of Patent: July 1, 2014Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.Inventors: Christina Marie Rhein, Daniel Lee Ellingson, Connie May McMorrow, John Timothy Hahn
