Patent number: 9641962Abstract: Sensor information is received from a set of sensors. First and second sets of machine monitoring data are generated from the sensor information. The first set of machine monitoring data is sent to a control system with a display in an operator compartment of a mobile machine. The second set of machine monitoring data is sent to a processing system that is separate from the control system.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 2015Date of Patent: May 2, 2017Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventors: Timothy J. Kilworth, Scott Pilarczyk, Jason D. Walter, Tim Roszhart, Gerald E. Rains, Brent A. Smith, Sean Mahrt, James Lawrence Sachs, David C. Smart

Patent number: 9119348Abstract: An implement is coupled to and pulled by a tractor. The tractor includes ground engaging drive wheels driven by an engine, an operator movable speed command device, and a tractor controller having automatic and manual speed control modes. The implement has an implement control unit coupled to the tractor controller. The implement control unit transmits an implement speed request signal to the tractor controller. The tractor controller controls tractor motion in response to operation of the speed command device and the implement speed request signal.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2010Date of Patent: September 1, 2015Assignee: DEERE & COMPANYInventors: Michael J. Martin, Timothy J. Kilworth, Peter Muench, Benjamin Neermann, Bruce C. Newendorp

Patent number: 9089095Abstract: A tractor includes an electronic tractor controller. A baler includes an electronic baler controller. The baler controller submits a halt signal to the tractor controller when a bale size is equal to or exceeds a first predetermined size. The baler controller generates a tractor halt signal in response to certain conditions of the baler system and the tractor controller preventing tractor motion in response to the halt signal. When the baler controller is generating the halt signal, tractor motion is enabled if the operator commands the tractor to move by manipulating the command device, and within a certain time period of said command being issued, the baler controller generates a tractor motion enabling signal in response a status of the baler system. When the baler controller is generating the halt signal, tractor motion is enabled if the operator moves the tractor command device in a special manner.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2013Date of Patent: July 28, 2015Assignee: DEERE & COMPANYInventors: Michael J. Martin, Travis J. Davis, Bruce C. Newendorp, Timothy J. Kilworth, Peter Muench, Benjamin Neermann

Patent number: 8001848Abstract: A torque measurement device associated with a power driven ground engaging device having a power supplying device and a load. The torque measurement device includes a rotatable shaft, a first detectable feature, a second detectable feature, a plurality of sensors and an electrical controller. The rotatable shaft has a longitudinal axis, a first end and a second end. The first end is connected to the power supplying device and the second end is connected to the load. The first and second detectable features are respectively associated with a first longitudinal position and a second longitudinal position on the shaft. The plurality of sensors include a first sensor and a second sensor. The first sensor is proximate to the first detectable feature and the second sensor is proximate to the second detectable feature. The first sensor produces a first signal and the second sensor produces a second signal as the rotatable shaft rotates about the longitudinal axis.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2007Date of Patent: August 23, 2011Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventors: Robert J. White, Timothy J. Kilworth
