  • Patent number: 5899324
Abstract: A forward-tilting display container with fold-out display doors which is adjustable between an enclosed position and a display position. In the enclosed position, the fold-out display doors comprise a portion of the lid of the container, with the remainder of the lid defining a pedestal-forming portion. The lid is hingedly connected to a display panel on the side of the container. The container is adjusted to the display position by folding the lid back so that the display doors overlay the display panel and the pedestal-forming portion lies underneath the container. In the display position, the display doors are opened to expose both the display panel and the display doors, with the pedestal-forming portion of the lid supporting the container in a forward-tilting position.

  • Patent number: 5192013
Abstract: The invention comprises an apparatus for removing from the outer surface the raised bead resulting from welding in the manufacture of continuous seam-welded metal tubes. A stage or travelling support block mounted for movement transversely of the advancing tube carries a pair of scarfing blades, each of which may have a plurality of cutting edges moveable seriatim into operative position. Adjusting screws operatively connected to the stage permit the stage and the scarfing blades thereon to be manually adjusted both laterally and vertically relative to the tube, and to selectively position either one of the scarfing blades for bead removal. A piston rod is connected by suitable linkage to the stage for rapidly advancing and retracting the stage upon command to move the scarfing blade into and out of operative position.

  • Patent number: 5148960
Abstract: The invention comprises an apparatus for aligning and guiding the seam of newly formed tube as it enters the welding mechanism in the manufacture of continuous seam-welded metal tubes or pipes. A rotary seam guide member having an alignment fin is mounted so that a alignment fin rollingly engages within the open seam immediately in advance of the seam welding mechanism. The seam guide member and a cooperating opposed roller guide the tube into the welding mechanism. The seam guide and opposed roller are carried within a roll stand including mechanism by which their position may be adjusted vertically and longitudinally relative to the welding mechanism, as well as rotated arcuately about the path of the tube. The seam guide member and/or the opposed roller may include insulating barriers to impede induced heating thereof.
