  • Patent number: 9382968
Abstract: An engine system includes an internal combustion engine, a driven unit, and a torsional coupling between a crankshaft of the engine and a driveshaft of the driven unit. The torsional coupling includes a driven-side disc coupled to the driveshaft, and a flywheel having an engine-side disc coupled to the crankshaft. The engine-side disc has an axial thickness in a discontinuous thickness range from about 0.2 inches to about 0.3 inches, so as to flex the engine-side disc predominantly over the driven-side disc in response to the driveline deflecting loads.

  • Publication number: 20150218982
Abstract: A rocker arm assembly for a valve operation in an engine includes a rocker main body extending between a first end and a second end. The first end of the rocker arm main body is configured to receive a valve actuation button and the second end of the rocker arm main body is configured to receive a cam roller assembly. The cam roller assembly includes a cam roller and a bushing is disposed in the cam roller forming a bearing surface. Further, the cam roller assembly includes a bearing component which is disposed in the bushing forming a bearing surface. The bearing component includes an oil hole with an oil delivery pocket which is curved to form a rounded edge and an transitional opening is formed extending from the rounded edge.

  • Publication number: 20150198230
Abstract: A cam follower assembly is disclosed. The cam follower assembly may include a forked body having a main bore, and a cam roller disposed within the main bore. The cam roller may include a hollow and generally cylindrical body having an outer surface configured to engage a camshaft. The cam follower assembly may also include a bushing having a generally cylindrical body having an outer surface configured to be press-fitted with the cam roller, a central bore formed within the generally cylindrical body of the bushing, and at least one swaged end configured to inhibit axial movement of the bushing. The cam follower assembly may further include an inner race disposed within the central bore of the bushing and configured to rotatably support the bushing.

  • Publication number: 20130223999
Abstract: An oil pump for a machine is disclosed. The oil pump may have a housing. The oil pump may further have a spacer fixedly connected to the housing. The spacer may divide the housing into a main chamber and an auxiliary chamber. The spacer may also have an opening. The oil pump may further have a drive shaft rotatably disposed within the housing generally orthogonal to the spacer. The drive shaft may pass through the opening. In addition, the oil pump may have a collar fixedly connected to the drive shaft. The collar may be positioned within the opening generally orthogonal to the spacer. The collar may have a diameter of about 2.5 to 3.0 inches and the opening may have a diameter such that an annular gap area between the collar and the spacer is about 0.25 to 0.29 square inches.
