  • Publication number: 20220323919
Abstract: A method for adjusting a blend composition includes: receiving target blend composition data associated with a target blend composition having a target blend property; controlling blend component flow streams to cause blend components to be added to a blend tank to form a blend composition; determining a property of the blend composition; comparing the property of the blend composition with the target blend property; generating control flow instructions based on the property of the blend composition and a machine learning analysis of historical blend data; and adjusting a blend component flow stream of the blend component flow streams to form a modified blend composition in the blend tank.

  • Publication number: 20210233618
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for predicting a polymer. A method may include determining one or more prediction scores for a target polymer based on at least one descriptor of the target polymer from at least three descriptor groups, wherein the one or more prediction scores include a prediction of one or more physical properties for the target polymer. A method may include determining one or more prediction scores for a target polymer based on at least one desired physical property of the target polymer, wherein the one or more prediction scores include a prediction of one or more raw materials of the target polymer.

  • Publication number: 20200210056
Abstract: Disclosed are methods of producing a graphical depiction of a predicted value of a property of a material. In accordance with the method, a processing unit generates a plot defining a geometric shape and comprising a plurality of points arranged in a matrix, each of the points defining a value for at least two variables and a predicted value of a property of the material. A visual representation of the predicted value of the property of the material for at least some of the plurality of points in a range of indicia is displayed on an output device. The range of indicia represents a range of predicted values of the property. A pointer on the visual representation is displayed on the output device.

  • Patent number: 6065836
Abstract: A photochromic ophthalmic lens and a process for its preparation are disclosed. The lens comprise a substantially transparent substrate having a lenticular shape and, at least one film adhering to at least one surface of said substrate. The film contains a resinous blend of polycarbonate resin, and poycaprolactone and an effective amount of a photochromic dye selected from a group consisting of spiropyrans, spiroxazines, fulgides and fulgimides. In an additional embodiment the film contains a copoly(carbonate-lactone) block or random copolymer.

  • Patent number: 5998520
Abstract: A thermoplastic molding composition is disclosed comprising (A) at least one resinous component selected from the group consisting of (i) a homogeneous blend of polycarbonate resin and polycaprolactone and (ii) a copoly(carbonate-lactone) copolymer, and (B) at least one compound selected from a group consisting of benzopyrans, naphthopyrans, spirobenzopyrans, spironaphthopyrans, spirobenzoxazines, spironaphthoxazines, fulgides and fulgimides. The composition which contains the photochromic compound at an amount of 0.01 to 1.0 parts per hundred parts of weight of said (A) exhibits good photochromic properties.
