  • Patent number: 10876261
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for use with a thermoplastic road marking system (e.g., paint truck). The systems and methods control an insertion or replenishment rate of unmelted thermoplastic paint feed stock into a thermoplastic melter based, at least in part, on the rate that thermoplastic melt is being applied to a marking surface. By substantially matching the replenishment rate into the thermoplastic melter with the application rate, thermal variance within the thermoplastic melter is reduced, which improves the consistency of marking lines applied to surfaces.

  • Patent number: 10880454
Abstract: A supply item has toner for use in an imaging device. A chip has memory storing quanta indicating allowed usage of the supply item over its lifetime and a multiplier correlating the quanta to toner mass. The imaging device requires quanta to conduct imaging operations and loads the quanta and multiplier by way of a certificate stored in the memory. The imaging device retrieves quanta from the chip over time and both devices keep tally. Initialization between the supply item and imaging device includes providing encrypted and unencrypted instances of firmware versions and certificates from the supply item that the imaging device can compare for security. Alternatively, the supply item defines a fuser assembly, imaging unit, intermediate transfer member, or other component installed for use in the imaging device.

  • Patent number: 10845244
Abstract: A common path interferometer is disclosed. The interferometer is arranged to divide an input beam into first and second beam portions directed in opposite directions around a cyclic path to form an interference pattern at a detector. The cyclic path is defined by at least two mirror regions curved in the plane of the cyclic path, such that the interference pattern represents path difference variations between the first and second beam portions. The interferometer further includes an input optic arranged in the beam path before division of the input beam into the beam portions. The input optic is configured to provide convergence to reduce the extent transversely to the plane of the cyclic path of the interference pattern at the detector. The beam and beam portions have different convergence requirements in the plane of, and transverse to the plane of, the cyclic path, which are addressed separately by the mirror regions and the input optic.
