  • Publication number: 20220265212
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to mobile-optimized software tools that may be deployed and used to measure spatial working memory across diverse clinical trial populations. For example, some aspects describe computational optimization and participatory design of a novel spatial working memory task for clinical trials relating to autism spectrum disorders (ASD) or other neurological conditions (e.g., Alzheimer's disease). Software tools as described herein may be used for measuring treatment effects on spatial working memory and/or provide treatments to improve a patient's spatial working memory. Digital biomarkers may be generated for each patient based on the patient's spatial working memory.

  • Publication number: 20220095991
Abstract: Currently, assessing the severity and progression of symptoms in a patient diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease involves in-clinic monitoring and testing of the patient every 6 to 12 months. However, monitoring and testing a patient more frequently is preferred, but increasing the frequency of in-clinic monitoring and testing can be costly and inconvenient to the patient. Thus, assessing the severity and progression of symptoms via remote monitoring and testing of the patient outside of a clinic environment as described herein provides advantages in cost, ease of monitoring, ecological validity, reliability and convenience to the patient, like improvement of quality of life. Systems, methods and devices according to the present disclosure provide a diagnostic for assessing one or more pre-clinical signs and/or symptoms of Alzheimer's disease in a patient by passive monitoring of the patient and/or active testing of the patient.

  • Publication number: 20210228130
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the field of schizophrenia or an autism spectrum disorder (“ASD”) diagnostics and disease management. Specifically, the present disclosure teaches a method of assessing schizophrenia or ASD in a subject in which a subject's usage data for a mobile device is collected over a first predefined time window. A usage behavior parameter is determined from the usage data, and the determined usage behavior parameter is compared to a reference. From the comparison it may be determined whether the schizophrenia or ASD in the subject is improving, persisting or worsening. A system including a mobile device having sensors recording usage data and a remote device operatively linked to the mobile device is also disclosed.
