  • Patent number: 7136393
Abstract: The invention is a data transmission medium and a method of data transmission. A data transmission system in accordance with the invention includes a plurality of modems; a transmission medium coupled to each of the modems with data transmissions between the modems being transmitted by the transmission medium with a data transmission protocol; a plurality of processors which use a common processor data protocol, each processor being coupled to one of the modems; a plurality of devices, each device receiving and/or transmitting data transmissions with a device data protocol and being coupled to a processor; and a plurality of digital devices, coupled to the transmission medium, which perform at least one of transmitting digital data to the transmission medium for transmission by the transmission medium to another digital device and receiving digital data from another digital device transmitted by the transmission medium.

  • Publication number: 20040015630
Abstract: The invention is a connection system used to connect devices, which transmit and receive data transmission medium. A connection system in accordance with the invention includes a housing for connection to an associated device and containing a stack of circuit boards, which are mounted therein. The circuit boards include a modem board, a processor board and a power supply board. The power supply board provides regulated electrical power to the stack of circuit boards. The modem board modulates data transmissions, modulated with a processor protocol which are received from the processor board, with a data transmission protocol used for transmitting data transmissions modulated with the data transmission protocol with the data transmission medium to another device and demodulates data transmissions modulated with the data transmission protocol which are received from another device into the processor protocol.

  • Publication number: 20030016738
Abstract: The present invention is a testing system and method for testing a system having at least one data source (12, 14, 16, 18) from which test data is acquired. An interface (50) acquires test data from the data source and converts the test data into a data output formatted with a data protocol. A slave processor (40) controls acquisition of test data by the interface coupled thereto and processes the data output received from the interface which is transmitted as a data transmission. A master processor (30) receives the data transmissions and controls the testing of the system by transmitting commands to each slave processor. Each slave processor controls the interface in accordance with the commands. Each processor communicates via the target system power bus using an interface wafer and powerline modulation and algorithms.

  • Publication number: 20030018840
Abstract: The invention is a power bus data transmission system (10) and method of data transmission. An existing system power bus functions (22) as the backbone data transmission network for transmitting data transmissions between at least one new device and at least one other device in an existing system (11) without the addition of new wiring to transmit the data transmissions. Assemblies of processors (40), device interfaces (50) and modems (130) may be used to connect the devices (12, 14, 16, 18) to the system power bus.

  • Patent number: 5327143
Abstract: A multifunction antenna system is provided which has adaptive beam forming capabilities for transmitting and receiving signals having various beam patterns over a hemispherical field of view. The antenna system includes a beamformer having an array of N spiral arm elements for transmitting and receiving a radiating beam. N analytic voltage signals are produced by the N cylindrically symmetric spiral arm elements in relation to the radiating beam. A beam processor is further provided for selecting the appropriate combination of vector weight coefficients in response to input data. The beam processor loads the selected N vector weights into a vector weighter. In the transmit mode, the vector weighter multiplies the selected vector weights by an input signal to produce the N analytic signals which are then applied to the multiple arm spiral antenna and transmitted therefrom.
