Publication number: 20240077151Abstract: A water hose particularly suitable for home and garden use, as well as light industrial or commercial use. The hose has a composite form and contains multiple bonded layers that synergistically contribute to durability, flexibility at a wide range of temperatures, kink resistance, and excellent flow rates while being relatively light in weight as compared to some conventional multi-layer composite hoses.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2023Publication date: March 7, 2024Inventors: Olivia French DEATON, Timothy L. Patent number: 11912545Abstract: A wireless hoist system including a first hoist device having a first motor and a first wireless transceiver and a second hoist device having a second motor and a second wireless transceiver. The wireless hoist system includes a controller in wireless communication with the first wireless transceiver and the second wireless. The controller is configured to receive a user input and determine a first operation parameter and a second operation parameter based on the user input. The controller is also configured to provide, wirelessly, a first control signal indicative of the first operation parameter to the first hoist device and provide, wirelessly, a second control signal indicative of the second operation parameter to the second hoist device. The first hoist device operates based on the first control signal and the second hoist device operates based on the second control signal.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2020Date of Patent: February 27, 2024Assignee: Milwaukee Electric Tool CorporationInventors: Matthew Post, Gareth Mueckl, Matthew N. Patent number: 10458574Abstract: A hose assembly, preferably a garden hose assembly, including a jacketed tube that is lightweight, durable and versatile. The tube is able to expand longitudinally along the length-wise axis of the hose between hose ends, as well as radially or circumferentially, to an expanded state in response to application of at least a minimum fluid pressure to an inner tube of the hose. Once the fluid pressure falls below the minimum fluid pressure, the hose assembly will contract. The two layer construction of the hose assembly allows for storage in relatively compact spaces, similar flow rates, approximately one-half the weight, and improved maneuverability when compared to conventional hose constructions. In one embodiment the jacket is formed around the tube in a continuous process that welds a material, preferably using hot air, into the jacket. The welded joint forms a region of jacket that is preferably about twice the thickness of the rest of the jacket.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2016Date of Patent: October 29, 2019Assignee: TEKNOR APEX COMPANYInventors: Gil Blanchette, Michael Melo, Steve Correa, Timothy L. Chapman, Marlon Van Beek, John W. Parker, Jr., Paul Burke, Ron Eilertson

Patent number: 10344899Abstract: A hose assembly, preferably a garden hose assembly, including a fabric jacketed tube that is lightweight, durable and versatile. The tube is radially expandable when pressurized by a fluid, such as water, but does not increase in length. The two layer construction of the hose assembly allows for storage in relatively compact spaces, similar flow rates, approximately one-half the weight, and improved maneuverability when compared to conventional hose constructions. In one embodiment the jacket is formed around the tube in a continuous process that welds a fabric, preferably using hot air, into the jacket. The welded joint forms a region of jacket that is preferably about twice the thickness of the rest of the jacket. This thicker region results in a stiffer section of jacket that makes the hose more controllable and consistent in use.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 2017Date of Patent: July 9, 2019Assignee: TEKNOR APEX COMPANYInventors: Gil Blanchette, Michael Melo, Steve Correa, Timothy L. Patent number: 9638613Abstract: A device and methods for testing and quantifying the kink resistance of a hose. The device has the ability to simultaneously test a plurality of hoses at equal amounts of twist or torque while water or other fluid is pumped through the hoses. The device can monitor one or more of the flow rate of fluid through a hose, fluid backpressure from a pressure source, torque and degrees of hose twist.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2014Date of Patent: May 2, 2017Assignee: TEKNOR APEX COMPANYInventor: Timothy L. Patent number: 9625071Abstract: A flexible hose assembly, in particular a garden hose, having an end fitting including a protective, strain reducing sleeve fixedly secured at the male end segment of a fluid conveying tube. The sleeve is flexible and provides strain relief to the portion of the tube surrounded by the sleeve and reduces the ability of the tube to kink in the area adjacent to the end fitting. The prevention of kinks at the male end of the tube reduces stresses in this area of the tube and greatly extends the working life of the sleeve and tube assembly. The sleeve additionally serves as a gripping surface for one or more of facilitating the attachment of the hose assembly to another device such as a flow control device and holding the end of the hose during use.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 2015Date of Patent: April 18, 2017Assignee: TEKNOR APEX COMPANYInventors: Michael Melo, Timothy L.
