  • Publication number: 20230210658
Abstract: Embodiments of a delivery apparatus for implanting a prosthetic valve are disclosed. The delivery apparatus can include a handle, a first shaft extending from a distal end of the handle, a second shaft extending through a lumen of the first shaft and the handle, and a gripper located proximal to a proximal end of the handle. A proximal end of the second shaft can be connected to the gripper, and the gripper can be axially moveable relative to the handle such that axial movement of the gripper causes corresponding axial movement of the second shaft relative to the first shaft. The gripper can have a bottom surface that is substantially coplanar with a bottom surface of the handle.

  • Publication number: 20220105313
Abstract: A steerable medical apparatus includes a shaft, a steering mechanism, and an actuation mechanism. The shaft has a proximal portion, a distal portion, a first pull wire, and a second pull wire. The distal ends of the first and second pull wires are coupled to the distal portion of the shaft. The steering mechanism has a first wheel and a second wheel coupled by a differential mechanism. The proximal ends of the first and second pull wires are respectively coupled to the first and second wheels. The actuation mechanism is coupled to the steering mechanism. Actuating the actuation mechanism in a first operational mode causes the distal portion of the shaft to curve in a first plane. Actuating the actuation mechanism in a second operational mode causes the distal portion of the shaft to curve away from the first plane.

  • Patent number: 6772149
Abstract: A computer-implemented method of gathering large quantities of training data from case law documents (especially suitable for use as input to a learning algorithm that is used in a subsequent process of recognizing and distinguishing fact passages and discussion passages in additional case law documents) has steps of: partitioning text in the documents by headings in the documents, comparing the headings in the documents to fact headings in a fact heading list and to discussion headings in a discussion heading list, filtering from the documents the headings and text that is associated with the headings, and storing (on persistent storage in a manner adapted for input into the learning algorithm) fact training data and discussion training data that are based on the filtered headings and the associated text.
