Publication number: 20240077282Abstract: An anti-cant indicator assembly, components thereof, and associated methods. The anti-cant indicator assembly indicates the orientation of a weapon with respect to vertical. The anti-cant indicator assembly includes a mount configured to mount to the weapon, a level including a vial containing a bubble and a pivot connection connecting the level to the mount. The pivot connection is configured to permit movement of the level with respect to the mount about the pivot connection between an operational position in which the bubble can be referenced by the user for indicating orientation of the weapon with respect to vertical, and a stowed position different from the operational position. The pivot connection can include a retainer configured to releasably retain the level in at least one of the operational position or the stowed position. The level can be selectively movable with respect to the mount to calibrate the anti-cant indicator.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2023Publication date: March 7, 2024Applicant: AOB Products CompanyInventors: Mike Lindsay, Michael Cottrell, James Tayon, Timothy S. Patent number: 11468889Abstract: A speech recognition platform configured to receive an audio signal that includes speech from a user and perform automatic speech recognition (ASR) on the audio signal to identify ASR results. The platform may identify: (i) a domain of a voice command within the speech based on the ASR results and based on context information associated with the speech or the user, and (ii) an intent of the voice command. In response to identifying the intent, the platform may perform a corresponding action, such as streaming audio to the device, setting a reminder for the user, purchasing an item on behalf of the user, making a reservation for the user or launching an application for the user. The speech recognition platform, in combination with the device, may therefore facilitate efficient interactions between the user and a voice-controlled device.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 2020Date of Patent: October 11, 2022Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Gregory Michael Hart, Peter Paul Henri Carbon, John Daniel Thimsen, Vikram Kumar Gundeti, Scott Ian Blanksteen, Allan Timothy Lindsay, Frederic Johan Georges Deramat

Patent number: 10133546Abstract: Techniques for receiving a voice command from a user and, in response, providing audible content to the user using a first device and providing visual content for the user using a second device. In some instances, the first device includes a microphone for generating audio signals that include user speech, as well as a speaker for outputting audible content in response to identified voice commands from the speech. However, the first device might not include a display for displaying graphical content. As such, the first device may be configured to identify devices that include displays and that are proximate to the first device. The first device may then instruct one or more of these other devices to output visual content associated with a user's voice command.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2013Date of Patent: November 20, 2018Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Gregory Michael Hart, Scott Ian Blanksteen, John Daniel Thimsen, Allan Timothy Lindsay, Robert David Owen, Charles Peter Hoppe

Patent number: 10062386Abstract: Techniques for indicating to a voice-controlled device that a user is going to provide a voice command to the device. In response to receiving such an indication, the device may prepare to process an audio signal based on sound captured by a microphone of the device for the purpose of identifying the voice command from the audio signal. For instance, a user may utilize a signaling device that includes a button that, when actuated, sends a signal that is received by the voice-controlled device. In response to receiving the signal, a microphone of the voice-controlled device may capture sound that is proximate to the voice-controlled device and may create an audio signal based on the sound. The voice-controlled device may then analyze the audio signal for a voice command of the user or may provide the audio signal to a remote service for identifying the command.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2017Date of Patent: August 28, 2018Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Allan Timothy Lindsay

Patent number: 9147399Abstract: Techniques for identifying users that issue audio commands based on signatures associated with the commands and additional characteristics associated with the commands. For instance, a device that includes a microphone may capture audio uttered by a user. The device, or another device, may then compare a signature associated with a generated audio signal to audio signatures associated with known users. For instance, the device may have access to multiple audio signatures, each of which is unique to a respective user that has previously interacted with the device or with another device. The device may then use this comparison to help identify the user that uttered the audio. In addition, however, the device may utilize a characteristic other than the audio signature. Using both the comparison of the audio signature to the previously received signatures along with the additional characteristic(s), the device may make a presumed identification of the user.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2012Date of Patent: September 29, 2015Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Gregory M. Publication number: 20120304518Abstract: The invention comprises improved designs in a recoil control device comprising a bolt and slider for use in a variety of firearms. In one embodiment, the bolt and slider are articulated so that the displacement of the bolt results in a force component accompanying the slider as it moves along a slider path that traverses a line formed by a linear firing axis of the barrel of the firearm. The slider can have additional structural and functional features, including stabilizing features, vibrational damping elements, elements of the fire control mechanism, and devices to manage the peak impulse of the slider movement as it contacts a base or terminus point.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 27, 2012Publication date: December 6, 2012Inventors: Renaud KERBRAT, Timothy Lindsay

Publication number: 20120137870Abstract: The invention relates to firearms and especially shotguns as well as devices or mechanisms for reducing felt recoil. In particular, the invention relates to a gas-operated device to reduce felt recoil using a recoil suppressing mass, or recoil mass, to create a counter-acting force to the recoil force. The recoil mass moves in response to the gas pressure in the barrel after firing, and more particularly the control of the flow of gas into a chamber to force the recoil mass to move and generate a recoil suppressing force.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 30, 2009Publication date: June 7, 2012Inventors: Timothy Lindsay, Quan Le, Jason Jackson

Publication number: 20060247115Abstract: A method of folding and stacking multiple-sheet sets utilizes a folder having a set feeder that by-passes the folder in-feed station. Sets of multiple sheets are directed directly to the folder processing station, such as a folder station. The set feeder comprises a guide mechanism that guides a set through a cover opening and along a lower guide to the input of the processing station. A sensing device senses the presence of the set and operates the processing station without operating the in-feed station. Alternately, a sensing device is not required, and the folder is operable to process sets using the set feeder by manually assuring that the in-feed station does not simultaneously propel any sheets to the processing station. The folder further comprises a telescoping stacker that holds the number of processed sheets equal to at least the number of sheets loaded at the in-feed station.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2006Publication date: November 2, 2006Inventor: Timothy Lindsay
