  • Patent number: 11505036
Abstract: A pressure relief valve flap includes an attachment portion, a main portion, and a hinge portion. The attachment portion is configured to be attached to the housing. The main portion has a lip and at least one damping feature. The lip extends around at least a portion of a periphery of the main portion. The hinge portion is disposed between and connects the main portion and the attachment portion. When the attachment portion is attached to the housing, the main portion is configured to move between a closed position and an opened position. When the main portion moves from the opened position to the closed position, the at least one damping feature is configured to engage the housing prior to the lip of the main portion and thereby dampen noise created when the lip of the main portion engages the housing.

  • Publication number: 20190270362
Abstract: A pressure relief assembly (100) includes a housing (102) including an air passage chamber (104) having a flap barrier (122) surrounding at least one airflow passage. A membrane flap is secured within the air passage chamber. The membrane flap covers the airflow passage(s) in a closed position. A portion of the membrane flap is configured to move off the airflow passage(s) into an open position. A noise-dampening seal (120) formed of a noise-dampening material is proximate to at least a portion of the flap barrier. The noise-dampening seal is configured to reduce noise generated by movement of the membrane flap as the membrane flap moves from the open position to the closed position. The noise-dampening seal provides a sealing interface with the membrane flap in the closed position.

  • Publication number: 20190184791
Abstract: A pressure relief assembly includes a main body (100) including at least one air passage chamber defined between one or more outer walls. At least one flap (320) covers at least one air opening within the air passage chamber(s). The outer wall(s) include one or more first latch members (120). A cover (200) includes one or more second latch members (202) that are configured to securely latch to the first latch member(s).

  • Patent number: 8986086
Abstract: An insert (10) for an opening in a base (20) includes a housing (12) having a peripheral side wall (18) defining an interior space (24). The peripheral side wall (18) includes at least one latch member (90) having a latching position. The latch member (90) engages the base (20) to secure the housing (12) in the opening when the latch member (90) is in the latching position. The housing (12) is inserted into the opening in a first direction (A) to engage the latch member (90) with the base (20). At least one indicator (100) shows when the at least one latch member (90) is in the latching position. The indicator (100) is visible in the first direction (A) when the insert (10) is in the opening in the base (20).
