  • Publication number: 20190002178
Abstract: Controlled-atmosphere flexible packaging includes a multilayer polymeric film heat-sealed to form an enclosure, with an alicyclic polyolefin barrier layer forming a heat-seal and a controlled atmosphere retained within said enclosure. The controlled atmosphere is selected from inert gas atmospheres, such as nitrogen atmospheres and the packaging is used for snack foods in order to extend shelf-life. In other embodiments, an alicyclic barrier component improves performance of gas barrier structures for a variety of applications.

  • Publication number: 20160136884
Abstract: A method of making a three-dimensional article includes providing a polymer blend which includes a cycloolefin copolymer and another thermoplastic resin; and printing the polymer blend into the three-dimensional article. The articles exhibits superior performance in connection with at least one of the following properties: dimensional stability; optical transmission; gloss; or barrier properties as compared with a like article made by a like process made from the thermoplastic resin in the blend only. Articles may also be formed with cycloolefin copolymer elastomer which is optionally blended with another thermoplastic.

  • Patent number: 5128212
Abstract: The use of multilayer heat shrinkable film for advantageous high shrinkage but low shrinkage force is combined with the use of recycle scrap of such film to provide multilayer heat shrinkable film retaining these advantageous properties. Exemplary of the film is a core of a blend of certain linear low density polyethylene with certain highly branched low density polyethylene sandwiched between two relatively thin outer layers of propylene/ethylene copolymer, with the core also containing recycle scrap of the multilayer film.
