A translation subsystem is configured to translate between the first type of per-hit fee and the second type of per-hit fee.

Abstract: A system and method that enhances the “focus” of information exchanged between sellers and buyers. Buyers identify potential sources for goods and services that are desirable to the buyer. Buyers can focus their access to listings of seller information by identifying desirable attributes, including but not limited to: geography attributes relating to the location(s) of the seller; and category attributes relating to the various categories of offerings that interest to the buyer. The use of geographical and categorical attributes is not limited to their inclusion as part of the search terms. Instead, seller listings can be organized into hierarchies of geography-based and category-based attributes in a highly normalized fashion to enhance the ability of a buyer focus on the most desirable listings. The system can be configured to limit, order, or otherwise prioritize the information viewed by the buyer on the basis of the desired attributes identified by the buyer.

Abstract: A method and system for controlling fuel flow in a fuel metering system that includes a metering valve and a proportional bypass valve that produces a differential pressure error across the metering valve includes supplying a first fraction of fuel through the metering valve. A second fraction of the fuel is directed through the proportional bypass valve. The differential pressure error produced by the bypass valve is determined, and fuel flow through the supply line is controlled by adjusting the metering valve based at least in part on the determined differential pressure error, and by adjusting the proportional bypass valve to maintain a substantially constant metering valve differential pressure across the metering valve.

Abstract: A fuel system (10) for a gas turbine engine (18) having a shaft (30) and requiring fuel to be supplied at a first rate for engine start up, the fuel system (10) including: a main fuel pump (14) for providing fuel to the gas turbine engine (18), the main fuel pump (14) having an output varying with shaft speed, the output being at a windmilling rate when the engine (18) is windmilling, the windmilling rate being less than the first rate; and an auxiliary fuel pump (40) for providing fuel to the gas turbine engine (18) and having an auxiliary output rate greater than or equal to the difference between the first rate and the windmilling rate. A method of operating such a fuel system (10) is also disclosed.

Abstract: A bleed air power assist system is coupled to a gas turbine engine that includes a high pressure turbine, a low pressure turbine, and an electrical generator driven by the high pressure turbine. The bleed air power assist system selectively bleeds air discharged from the high pressure turbine and supplies it to an air turbine that is also coupled to the generator. Thus, the system selectively reduces the power extracted from the high pressure turbine. This, coupled with the bleed air that is diverted from the low pressure turbine, allows the low pressure spool to run at lower speeds when high engine thrust is not needed or desired, but when the generator is still needed to supply high electrical loads.

Abstract: An electromechanical inlet guide vane actuation system includes one or more electric motor driven actuators that are used to appropriately position the inlet guide vanes in a gas turbine engine. The actuation system includes a control circuit that supplies guide vane actuation control signals in response to guide vane position command signals it receives. The guide vane actuation control signals are supplied to one or more electric motors, which position actuators, and thus the inlet guide vanes, to the commanded position.

Abstract: A method of making a catheter balloon, and a balloon formed thereby, in which a polymeric tube is radially expanded in a mold having a wall with an outer surface and an inner surface defining a chamber, and having at least a section with one or more channels in the wall. The channels result in improved transfer of heat to the polymeric tube within the chamber of the mold during blow molding of the tube to form a balloon, so that the tube is heated more quickly and evenly. One aspect of the invention is directed to a balloon having sections with improved thin walls.

Abstract: An integrally joined two-piece motor vehicle steering knuckle assembly which includes a first component, preferably having a steering knuckle, a brake mounting bracket, a tie rod arm and, if needed, a steering rod arm, and a second component, preferably having a wheel spindle. The first component and the second component are integrally joined together by a process such as interference fit, welding and/or adhesive bonding, in the case of welding, most preferably friction welding, to form an integrally joined two-piece motor vehicle steering knuckle assembly.
