  • Patent number: 10966872
Abstract: A system that may be adapted to distribute reduced pressure to a tissue site may include a dressing and a sealing member. The dressing may include a manifold layer, a storage layer, and a plurality of retainers. The manifold layer may be adapted to be positioned proximate the tissue site, and the storage layer may be positioned proximate the manifold layer. The plurality of retainers may be disposed in the storage layer. Each of the retainers may define a fluid communication channel through the storage layer. The retainers may be adapted to substantially preclude deformation of the storage layer into the fluid communication channels. The sealing member may be adapted to cover the dressing and to provide a fluid seal between the sealing member and the tissue site.

  • Publication number: 20210085839
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for providing negative-pressure therapy with oxygen therapy are claimed. An apparatus for providing negative pressure therapy with normobaric or hypobaric oxygen therapy may include dressing having a tissue interface and a cover. Additionally, in some embodiments, the apparatus may include a negative-pressure source and an oxygen-concentrating or oxygen-generating source, each of which may be coupled to or configured to be coupled to the tissue interface. The tissue interface can enable fluid transport during negative-pressure therapy cycles, and disbursement of normobaric or hyperbaric oxygen during oxygen therapy cycles. For example, some embodiments of the tissue interface may comprise structures or foams constructed from polyurethane, silicone, or polyvinyl chloride.

  • Publication number: 20210077302
Abstract: A multi-layer dressing for treating tissue with negative pressure, instillation, or both. In some embodiments a first layer may be formed from reticulated foam having a series of holes. A second layer disposed adjacent to the first layer may be formed from a perforated polymer. The dressing may optionally include a third layer formed from a soft polymer, such as a silicone gel. The third layer may also have perforations or apertures. The third layer is generally oriented to face a tissue site, and may be disposed adjacent to the first layer so that the first layer is disposed between the third layer and the first layer. The perforations or apertures in the third layer may be registered with one or more perforations in the first layer.

  • Patent number: 10946122
Abstract: A reduced pressure treatment apparatus includes a charging chamber storing a first pressure less than an ambient pressure and a regulated chamber storing a second pressure less than the ambient pressure. The first pressure is less than the second pressure. A conduit provides fluid communication between the regulated chamber and the charging chamber. A regulator member is operably associated with the conduit to prevent fluid communication through the conduit when the second pressure is less than or equal to a desired therapy pressure and to allow fluid communication through the conduit when the second pressure exceeds the desired therapy pressure.

  • Patent number: 10925774
Abstract: A system for treating a tissue site includes a pressure source to apply reduced pressure, and a manifold in fluid communication with the pressure source to provide reduced pressure to the tissue site. The system includes a drape for adhering to the tissue site to cover the tissue site and the manifold. The drape has a film layer having a thickness less than about 15 microns, and an adhesive coupled to the film layer. The adhesive seals the film layer to the tissue site to create a sealed space having the manifold therein. The adhesive is sufficiently thick to limit leaks between the film layer and the tissue site.

  • Publication number: 20210015677
Abstract: The present disclosure describes a wound dressing with one or more integrated pH sensors. The pH sensors can measure the pH at different portions of the wound and dressing. The pH sensors can measure the pH of the wound and dressing at different intervals throughout the wearing of the dressing. The pH sensors can provide real-time feedback during wear time. In addition to providing indications of pH, the pH sensors can provide indications of the wound dressing's level of saturation. The pH sensors can be visual indications that the wound dressing is saturated with fluid and should be changed.
