  • Publication number: 20160220320
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a surgical robot system may include an end-effector element configured for controlled movement and positioning and tracking of surgical instruments and objects relative to an image of a patient's anatomical structure. In some embodiments the end-effector may be tracked by surgical robot system and displayed to a user. In some embodiments the end-effector element may be configured to restrict the movement of an instrument assembly in a guide tube. In some embodiments, the end-effector may contain structures to allow for magnetic coupling to a robot arm and/or wireless powering of the end-effector element. In some embodiments, tracking of a target anatomical structure and objects, both in a navigation space and an image space, may be provided by a dynamic reference base located at a position away from the target anatomical structure.

  • Publication number: 20080086842
Abstract: An adapter for a door knob is provided comprising a lever handle including a base plate and a handle portion, a clamp, and a tightening band. The clamp is disposed along or attached to the base plate and is constructed and arranged to engage with at least a portion of a door knob or at least a portion of a supporting shaft, stalk or rotation axis of a door knob such that the lever handle extends transversely to the axis of the clamp. The clamp includes at least a portion of an inner surface adapted to frictionally engage to the portion of the door knob or supporting shaft, stalk or rotation axis. The tightening band is attached to the lever handle and is adapted to be tightened or otherwise adjusted around at least a portion of the supporting shaft, stalk or rotation axis, or around at least a portion of a door knob, by a tightening mechanism to help to achieve a non-slip fit and attachment of the lever handle to the supporting shaft, stalk or rotation axis or to the door knob.

  • Publication number: 20070138038
Abstract: An apparatus for displaying an object is provided. The apparatus includes a body portion having a base end for engaging a display surface, such as a wall, and an opposite mounting end for engaging the object to be displayed. The apparatus also includes, at its base end, an attachment mechanism for securely affixing the apparatus to the display surface. The apparatus further includes, at its mounting end, a hub for releasably mounting the object being displayed onto the mounting end of the apparatus. A method of displaying an object is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20030080143
Abstract: A method for depositing a volume of fluid relative to a surface to produce a droplet relative to the surface comprising the steps of forming a bolus of liquid relative to a dispensing member, causing the bolus of liquid to make contact with a surface thereby forming a bridge of liquid between the dispensing member and the surface, and retracting only a portion of the bolus of liquid to break the bridge of liquid between the dispensing member and the surface thereby depositing a droplet on the surface. A volume of a droplet can be adjusted by forming a bridge of liquid between a dispensing member and a surface that includes an initial droplet and breaking the bridge of liquid while leaving a remaining droplet of a different volume than the initial droplet.

  • Patent number: 5853297
Abstract: A System and Method for the multi-contact co-planar or nearly co-planar edge-to-edge electrical connection of printed circuit boards that embodies an electrical connection between the printed circuit boards and a rigid latching physical connection between the printed circuit boards. Electrical and physical connections of PCBs are simultaneously accomplished by the user through a quick and easy connection and disconnection mechanism without damage to any components. A latching mechanism on the second PCB cooperates with a shaped mating end of a first PCB whereby the second PCB slides onto and latches with the first PCB. Cantilever beam springs on either side of the second PCB permits the two PCB's to positively engage one another to form a stable rigid connection of the two PCB's.
