  • Patent number: 11717200
Abstract: An ergonomic suction syringe and method for performing medical procedures in which suction is generated and can be delivered to a medical device by a single-handed compression motion, with suction actuated by forward motion of a piston into a cylinder, and in which suction can be maintained essentially permanently once activated without any further effort by the operator, even hands-free.

  • Patent number: 11702801
Abstract: Roadway resurfacing often requires removal of the existing asphalt from the roadway for reuse. One method of resurfacing a roadway is hot-in-place recycling. Hot-in-place recycling employs substantial heat to remove the oxidized or aged asphalt. This heat further oxidizes the asphalt, creating a material that lacks many desirable properties (e.g., flowability) and flexibility. The disclosure provides compositions and methods that enhance oxidized asphalt, making it more viable for use in resurfacing roadways. Accordingly, compositions comprising recycled asphalt pavement and a rejuvenating agent are disclosed. The compositions combine a rejuvenator and fresh asphalt flux to make a modified asphalt rejuvenator. The modified rejuvenator is then mixed with recycled asphalt pavement to form a rejuvenated asphalt composition.

  • Publication number: 20230050715
Abstract: A transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) treatment system is provided. The system includes a sensor device that senses EEG signals from a subject through one or more leads and a server device configured to receive EEG data corresponding to the subject. The server includes an analysis module configured to process the EEG data and determine a personalized resonant brain frequency and a minimum neuronal activation threshold of the subject based at least in part on EEG data corresponding to one or more leads of the sensor device. The analysis module is also configured to determine a TMS treatment protocol where the treatment protocol includes at least a frequency based on the personalized resonant brain frequency and an amplitude based on the minimum neuronal activation threshold. The system also includes a treatment device configured to deliver a TMS treatment to the subject based on the TMS treatment protocol received from the server.

  • Patent number: 11504508
Abstract: Disclosed is an angioplasty balloon catheter and method of use, said angioplasty balloon catheter includes an elongated tip end with physical characteristics nearly identical to a standard angiographic diagnostic catheter. The elongated tip end extends approximately between 2 cm to 75 cm beyond a distal end of a balloon, depending upon embodiments. The tip of the elongated tip end may be angled or straight depending upon embodiments and may or may not have a plurality of side holes in addition to an end hole depending on embodiments. The elongated tip end permits the angioplasty balloon catheter to tract more easily across tortuous or markedly angulated segments of a dialysis graft or fistula, minimizing complications that can result with currently available devices. If angulated, the elongated tip end also enables a user to selectively catheterize an artery without needing a separate diagnostic catheter to do so, and enable tracking and cornering across sharply angulated vessel segments.

  • Patent number: 11506742
Abstract: A system and method for autonomous distress tracking of an aircraft. An automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast transceiver is configured to transmit an automatic distress transmission. A system controller comprises a distress identifier that is configured to determine when the aircraft is in a distress condition. The system controller is configured to control the automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast transceiver to transmit the automatic distress transmission in response to a determination that the aircraft is in the distress condition. The automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast transceiver and the system controller are contained within a housing attached to the aircraft on an outside of the aircraft.

  • Patent number: 11353300
Abstract: A projectile and deployment method ensures successful deployment of the projectile regardless of an external environment. Contacting engagement is maintained between a piston and deployable fins as the fins rotate from a folded position to a deployed position. The fins are pushed by the piston to rotate into a deployed position in which the fins are locked before the piston is able to eject from the assembly. Using the engaging tabs between the fins and the piston, and a modular pressure reservoir, the piston continues to push on the fins at least until the fins are deployed and locked. After locking, pressure in the projectile is equalized and the piston is launched off of the pressure reservoir. If the fins are not immediately deployed and locked, the piston will continue to push on the fins until the external environment enables full deployment or until the pressure is equalized.

  • Publication number: 20210346657
Abstract: Disclosed is a multifunctional convertible catheter and methods of use, said multifunctional convertible catheter capable of performance of both diagnostic angiography while containing a guide wire throughout its lumen and angioplasty, and also being convertible between over-the-wire or rapid exchange configurations by manipulation of said multifunctional catheter and said guide wire by an operator. Whether used in an over-the-wire or rapid exchange configuration, a multifunctional convertible catheter disclosed herein allows the operator to perform angioplasty at any site in the body without use of an exchange length guide wire, without the need to exchange said convertible angioplasty balloon catheter for a diagnostic catheter pre- or post-angioplasty, without the need of an injectable vascular sheath, all while reducing catheter inventory requirements for the health care system.

  • Patent number: 10529995
Abstract: A receptacle in the body of a missile includes a plurality of electrical contacts connected to one or more electrically powered devices within the missile and configured to connect to an electrical power source. The receptacle receives a removable and reusable battery pack including connectors contacting the plurality of electrical contacts when the battery pack is mounted within the receptacle and one or more non-chemical, squibless batteries, preferably comprised of high power density primary cell lithium metal oxide cells. An interface circuit coupled to the squibless batteries initiates, terminates, and re-initiates delivery of electrical power from the squibless batteries to the plurality of electrical contacts based on a control input. Transportation, storage, and use risks associated with squibs in chemical batteries are avoided.
