  • Patent number: 8719808
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided to generate an enhanced object file for reliable program execution on a programmable chip. The enhanced object file includes additional hardware information added before or after the object file is linked. Various embodiments further provide techniques for reliable execution of a program on a programmable chip. The programmable chip can be verified for the appropriate hardware based on the hardware information in the enhanced object file. The hardware information may include a bitstream to reprogram a device, interface information, joint test action group (JTAG) information, etc.

  • Patent number: 6592628
Abstract: A method and system is provided that processes the content of a document separately from information used to describe the structure of the content in the document. Content can be text, alphanumeric data, or any other information contained in a document. Initially, the method provides a content entity capable of storing and manipulating the content stored in a storage area. The manipulation of content in the storage area includes inserting content in the content entity identified by a start position and a stop position, removing content from the content entity, and retrieving content from the storage area. A separate document entity is provided that uses element entities to represent the structure of the text without the content. The document entity is used to retrieve information from the element entities and determine the location of content in the content entity.

  • Patent number: 6480206
Abstract: A modular text editor formats and displays text by creating style objects that format text elements arranged hierarchically. Style objects may include formatting information for document text elements, paragraph text elements, and character text elements. These style objects are then arranged as subclasses according to the hierarchy of text elements. Next, the text editor provides view objects to display text elements of the document. Like the style objects, the view objects are arranged as subclasses according to the hierarchy of text elements. Using information associated with the style objects, the formatted text elements in the document are displayed using the view objects.

  • Patent number: 6470364
Abstract: A graphical user interface (GUI) application executed on a computer system is provided that generates a text component in a graphical user interface (GUI). Initially, a user interface style is selected for the text component displayed on a GUI. This can be automatically selected by the GUT application or a user. The GUI application then delegates implementation of the user interface style within the text component to a text user interface object and delegates implementation of a text editor within the text component to an editor kit object. The editor kit object generates the text editor for the text component customized according to the type of text being edited. The text user interface object then displays the text component and the text editor with the selected user interface style.
