Abstract: A device for removing materials secured to surfaces. The powered crowbar includes a shaft having a first end and a second end, wherein the first end tapers to a flat chisel, such that the chisel is designed to fit within tight spaces. The second end includes a housing and grip, wherein the grip is designed to be held by a user. The housing has a motor, a power source operably connected to the motor, a control module operably connected to the motor, and an activation switch operably connected to the motor. The motor is designed to vibrate the shaft and chisel. In this way, the powered crowbar efficiently loosens and removes materials, such as a nailed board, secured to a surface.

Abstract: A method and system for interfacing between a portable media device and one or more media content providers. The method may be practiced, for example, in a system including the portable media device that receives content from one or more media content providers. The method can include identifying a first data format employed by the portable media device and a second data format employed by a selected media content provider. A data stream is received from the selected media content provider. The data received from the selected media content provider can be modified to be compatible with the first data format. Alternately or additionally, the data stream can be filtered to eliminate content that is unnecessary for the portable media device. The method further includes communicating the formatted data to the portable media device.

In a distributed computing system including an Internet access point, an authentication service, and a third party client system, an authentication service receives an authorization request from a third party client system. The authorization request is initiated in response to a single action being performed by a user of the third party client system. The user is not required to manually submit any identification information. The authorization request includes a unique client identifier for identifying the third party client system. The method also includes verifying that the third party client system associated with the unique client identifier is authorized to access the Internet via the Internet access point. If the third party client system is authorized to access the Internet, Internet access is provided to the third party client system.

Abstract: Providing content to a device. Content stored on a device can be examined or searched based on the programming of channels that are available to the device over various networks. The content can be searched using other rules related to user preferences or content characteristics. Based on the results of the examination of the content, playlists are generated. Each playlist includes content from the device that matches or partially matches the content associated with one of the channels. Using the playlists, a user can load content from their device that has a theme consistent with a particular channel. When signal loss is detected for a given channel, the playlist associated with that channel can be loaded and played by the device. The device can resume playing the channel when the signal is again adequately detected.

The method is comprised of administering a composition containing a Free-B-Ring flavonoid or a composition containing a mixture of Free-B-Ring flavonoids to a host in need thereof. The present also includes novel methods for the prevention and treatment of COX-2 mediated diseases and conditions. The method for preventing and treating COX-2 mediated diseases and conditions is comprised of administering to a host in need thereof an effective amount of a composition containing a Free-B-Ring flavonoid or a composition containing a mixture of Free-B-Ring flavonoids and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

Abstract: Guided discovery of content in a device. A device such as a satellite radio can received multiple data streams at least over networks including a satellite network or other wireless networks. The device includes filters that are based on the history of the device, the advertising history of the device, or on lists obtained from other devices. The data streams available to the device are filtered using the filters to discover content in the data streams. Content, including metadata or a portion of the content itself, discovered by the results of the filters can be stored at the device. The device notifies the user of the discovered content. The filters guide the discovery of content that may be of interest to the user of the device.

Abstract: A desk assembly and method of manufacturing the desk assembly. The desk assembly includes a frame supporting a top assembly. The frame includes two or more leg portions telescopically coupled to one another such that the top assembly is height adjustable. The top assembly is formed from a plastic molded base bonded to a high pressure laminate sheet to form a seamless panel. The seamless panel is straightened from a deformed state during the manufacturing process to a flat surface by adhering the panel to a substrate with adhesive and pressure. The top assembly may include an angled portion set off by a flowing arc to increase user comfort. The desk assembly may include a chair assembly integrally formed with the frame and one or more semi-transparent modesty panels.

Abstract: Discovering content on data streams available to a device such as a satellite radio. A satellite radio may be able to receive channels from a satellite network as well as over an IP-based network. The device can be configured to tune multiple channels selected from the channels available to the device over these networks based on the user's preferences. The user preferences can be compared to at least the metadata of the channels available to the device in order to identify the channels that best match the user's preferences. The channels identified in this manner are then tuned and recorded on the device. A user may then be notified of the recorded content.

Abstract: Automated acquisition of content including digital media for a device. A device such as a satellite radio can discover content from multiple data stream sources. The device then receives input from a user selecting or identifying specific content to acquire. The device, upon detecting an appropriate network that enables the device to communicate with a remote service or media repository, requests the content using a portion of the specific content such as metadata. The device then receives the content from the service or from the media repository. Often the received content is a higher quality version of the content whereas the portion of the content stored by the device may be lower quality. The user is notified after the content has been acquired.

Abstract: Fixed-dried red blood cells (RBCs), and processes for preparing the same are disclosed. The red blood cells, upon reconstitution with distilled water or appropriate buffer: bind oxygen with native affinities, have partial deformability, present minimal thrombogenicity to platelets, and have oblated blood group antigens. The RBCs are preferably fixed by means of cross-linkers with aldehyde functions such as paraformaldehyde or glutaraldehyde either alone or in combination. Native oxygen kinetics are achieved by preparing the red blood cells with 1,6-diphosphofructose. Blood group antigens and chemical functions that render the lyophilized RBCs thrombogenic are occluded by chemically attaching polyoxyethylene glycol polymers to the surface membrane of the red blood cells. The cross-linked red blood cells are preferably died by lyophilization.

Abstract: A nesting table comprises a frame, a table top that rotates between a use configuration and a storage configuration, and a control means that controls the rate of rotation from the use configuration to the storage configuration. In one embodiment, the control means does not affect the rate of rotation of the table top from the storage configuration to the use configuration. An impact protection means con be mounted on the frame to protect an adjacent table when two or more tables are nested in storage configuration. The nesting table also can be provided with a modesty screen that is mounted such that it does not interfere with the rotation of the table top in either direction. The table further can be provided with a latching means including a hook, and a hook cover to further protect adjacent tables in nested configuration.
