  • Patent number: 11237890
Abstract: An aspect includes receiving a drive log page including data from a plurality of disk devices, in which the drive log page includes a plurality of attribute fields including a reassignment field that tracks data movement from a failing sector of a disk device to a new sector of the disk device. Performing, by the system, a failure prediction based on attribute data of the drive log page to identify one or more disk devices of the plurality of disk devices that are predicted to fail. Disabling, by the system, the one or more disk devices in response to the failure prediction.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 21, 2019
Date of Patent: February 1, 2022
    Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION

  • Publication number: 20060108847
Abstract: A seat latch for controlling operation of a vehicle seat within a vehicle. In some embodiments, the seat latch includes a housing connectable to either of the vehicle seat or the vehicle and a user-manipulatable control supported by the housing. The user-manipulatable control can be operable to facilitate movement of the seat latch between a latched condition in which the vehicle seat is secured against movement with respect to the vehicle, and an unlatched condition in which the vehicle seat can be moved with respect to the vehicle. The user-manipulatable control can also be actuated to facilitate movement of the seat back between a plurality of reclined orientations, and can provide a visual indicator that the seat latch is not in the latched condition.

  • Publication number: 20060006669
Abstract: Some embodiments of the present invention provide a ratchet engagable with a striker to selectively control separation between a closure panel of a vehicle and another portion of the vehicle, and a lift lever to bias the striker away from an engaged position with the ratchet. In some embodiments, the lift lever exerts a lower amount of force upon the striker in a latched position than in an unlatched position.

  • Publication number: 20050200137
Abstract: Some embodiments of the present invention provide a latch having a catch, a pawl, and an actuator wheel having first and second protrusions. The first protrusion drives movement of the catch and pawl to selectively engage and disengage a striker. The second protrusion engages a catch abutment surface and a pawl abutment surface to define an opened and closed state of the latch, respectively.
