    Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed to monitor and evaluate vehicle operator behavior. An example apparatus includes at least one processor to process image data to identify a traffic sign in relation to a vehicle; identify a driver event using a pattern of objects including the traffic sign and the vehicle in the image data; and evaluate compliance with a driver event rule for the driver event by at least: a) calculating a proximity of the traffic sign to the vehicle based on i) a distance between the vehicle and the traffic sign and ii) an operating state of the vehicle; b) comparing the proximity of the traffic sign and the operating state of the vehicle to determine an actual vehicle operating behavior; and c) generating a score associated with operation of the vehicle by comparing the actual vehicle operating behavior with the reference vehicle operating behavior.

    Abstract: System and methods for marking a work area boundary of an autonomous vehicle are disclosed. A system may receive an indication that boundary marking for a work area is to be activated, and may transmit an activation signal to a marking actuator based on receiving the indication that boundary marking for the work area is to be activated. The activation signal may cause the marking actuator to begin marking the boundary as a vehicle, that includes the system, traverses the boundary. The system may store information that identifies a plurality of marked locations along the boundary. The system may determine that boundary marking for the work area is to be deactivated, and may transmit a deactivation signal to the marking actuator based on determining that boundary marking for the work area is to be deactivated. The deactivation signal may cause the marking actuator to stop marking the boundary.

    Abstract: Methods and compositions are provided for the identification of a molecular diagnostic test for cancer. The test defines a novel DNA damage repair deficient molecular subtype and enables classification of a patient within this subtype. The present invention can be used to determine whether patients with cancer are clinically responsive or non-responsive to a therapeutic regimen prior to administration of any chemotherapy. This test may be used in different cancer types and with different drugs that directly or indirectly affect DNA damage or repair, such as many of the standard cytotoxic chemotherapeutic drugs currently in use. In particular, the present invention is directed to the use of certain combinations of predictive markers, wherein the expression of the predictive markers correlates with responsiveness or non-responsiveness to a therapeutic regimen.

    Abstract: An electric arc welder for depositing weld metal along a groove between two edges of a metal workpiece. The welder comprises: a leading electrode driven toward a point in the groove by a first wire feeder operated at a first speed by a first motor with a speed control input and a tachometer derived first feedback signal, a trailing electrode driven toward the same point by a second wire feeder operated at a second speed by a second motor with a speed control input and a tachometer derived second feedback signal, a first power source directing a first current to flow through the leading electrode and a second power source causing a second current to flow through the trailing electrode with the current flow being in a series arc circuit. The second power source being grounded to the workpiece to modify the series arc current so ground current flows to the workpiece whereby the second current is generally equal to the first current minus the ground current.

    Abstract: It has been found that target optics produce non-specular, augmented optical returns when interrogated by a laser pulse. This non-specular radiation is detected by an active laser search system employing a direct-reading, thresholded focal plane detector that is able to detect non-cooperating targets with optics that employ a detector or optical element at the focal plane of their receiving optics. The pulses returned from such target optics have a width commensurate with the original transmitted pulse width, whereas passive background noise and the spread out active returns from the ground exhibit temporally long returns. By setting the sensor threshold sufficiently high, the system discriminates against noise and clutter while at the same time reducing the number of sweeps required to detect a target within the search area.
