To prevent data decay, contents in the cache may be refreshed on-demand and in accordance with a dynamically determined schedule. Interline itineraries generated by searching the cache may be refined based on vendor specific pricing, routing, and fare construction rules. The virtual passenger service system may further support the partial modification of an interline itinerary, which may be realized without canceling and rebooking the interline itinerary in its entirety.
