Patent number: 10080300Abstract: A latch module that includes a button carriage that is slidably coupled to a latch module chassis, thereby enabling the button carriage to move between an extended and a depressed position. The button carriage, when a user-operable button of the button carriage is depressed a first time, moves from the extended position to the depressed position. An inverter arm that is pivotally coupled to the latch module chassis and that is mechanically linked to the button carriage pivots when the button carriage, moves from the extended position to the depressed position, as the button is depressed. A latch arm that is mechanically linked to the inverter arm slides from a non-blocking position into a blocking position when the inverter arm pivots. In the blocking position, the latch arm extends beyond a retaining pin of a chassis; and in the non-blocking position, the latch arm clears the retaining pin.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 2015Date of Patent: September 18, 2018Assignee: EMC IP Holding Company LLCInventors: Timothy Olesiewicz, Christopher Frank

Patent number: 7898804Abstract: A vent for a computer apparatus having first and second groups of components. The vent has an air inlet that receives air from a location adjacent to the first group of components and an air outlet that provides air into a space defined between the first and second components. Air flows from the air inlet to the air outlet through a channel that circumvents the first group of components. The computer apparatus may be a server having a plurality of disk drives disposed in a front section of a cabinet. A fan in the back section of the cabinet draws air through a first airflow path across the disk drives. A snorkel defines a second airflow path that circumvents the disk drives in the front section to provide air to the second group of components in the back section.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2008Date of Patent: March 1, 2011Assignee: Oracle America, Inc.Inventors: Timothy Olesiewicz, Anthony Eberhardt, Brett Ong

Publication number: 20050063156Abstract: An electronic assembly includes a housing having a first portion and a remaining portion. The first portion includes a surface forming an outer wall of the housing. The electronic assembly also includes a component such as a CD ROM drive, for example, that may be mounted on the first portion of the housing. Further, at least one additional component, such as a motherboard, may be mounted on the remaining portion of the housing. The first portion of the housing is rotatably attached to the remaining portion of the housing. When the first portion of the housing is rotated into a closed position, the component and the additional component are positioned adjacent to each other. However, when the first portion of the housing is rotated into an open position, the component and the additional component are moved away from each other to allow access to the additional component.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2003Publication date: March 24, 2005Inventors: Timothy Olesiewicz, Steven Furuta
