  • Publication number: 20230218300
Abstract: In some aspects, the present disclosure provides a delivery device for delivering a detachable medical implant that comprises an elongated delivery member and a first engagement portion. The first engagement portion comprises a first proximal-facing surface, a first distal-facing surface, and a first lumen that is configured to accommodate an activation wire, wherein at least 50% of a surface area of the first proximal-facing surface is angled away from a proximal end of the first engagement portion. In other aspects, the present disclosure provides a medical delivery system comprising: such a delivery device; an implantable device comprising a medical device portion and a second engagement portion, the second engagement portion comprising a second lumen configured to accommodate an activation wire, a second proximal-facing surface and a second distal-facing surface; and an activation wire. Other aspects pertain to methods of medical device delivery using such a medical delivery system.

  • Publication number: 20180028262
Abstract: An ablation device includes a needle extending from a proximal end which, during use, remains outside a body accessible to a user to a tissue penetrating distal tip, the needle defining a lumen extending therethrough to a distal end of the needle. The ablation device also includes a first ablation electrode mounted on a distal portion of the needle in combination with an inner tube received within the lumen of the needle separating the lumen of the needle into an inner cooling fluid supply lumen and an annular fluid return lumen. In addition, the ablation device includes a source of cooling fluid supplying cooling fluid to the cooling fluid supply lumen and withdrawing fluid from the fluid return lumen to remove heat from the first electrode to maintain a temperature of the first electrode below a predetermined threshold temperature.

  • Patent number: 7998130
Abstract: A system for connecting a compatibility liner with a source of perishable therapeutic is provided. In one exemplary system for connecting a reservoir of perishable therapeutic with a lumen, a hollow hub having a first end and a second end is provided. The first end of the hollow hub, which contains a bond port, is in fluid communication with the second end. The second end of the hollow hub may contain a docking groove that is sized to couple a reservoir to it. The system also includes an inner hypo-tube having a proximal tip and an inner lumen. This inner lumen is lined with a therapeutic compatible lining and is in fluid communication with the second end of the hub through the proximal tip of the inner hypo-tube. The inner lining and the proximal tip in this system are configured to shield therapeutic ejected from the reservoir from contacting materials that can diminish the integrity of the therapeutic.
