    Abstract: Apparatus for differential pressure forming an article in a thermoplastic sheet including a female mold cavity mounting a one piece, ring-shaped detachable mold insert for forming at least a portion of the article. The insert is formed by rolling a crescent shaped sheet, having opposite ends into a truncated cone with opposite ends thereof in abutting relation, inserting the truncated cone shaped mold insert into a mold cavity, and applying endwise force to the ends of the mold insert to detachably secure the mold in a mold body.
