Abstract: An electronic data protection method and device, terminal device, and storage medium. The encryption process is performed when an encryption instruction is received. Information acquisition instructions are sent to a data protection key hardware device and receiving information is returned by the data protection key hardware device according to the instructions. The instructions include a device identification acquisition instruction and fingerprint information acquisition instruction. Information returned by the data protection key hardware device includes device identification and user fingerprint information. An object is encrypted according to information returned by the data protection key hardware device. Software and hardware are combined to encrypt a file. The file is encrypted based on information provided by the data protection key hardware device.
