  • Publication number: 20230191092
Abstract: The disclosed invention is in the field of medical devices, namely angioplasty balloon catheters. The embodiments provide an angioplasty balloon catheter that has favorable features of both biaxial and coaxial lumen configurations, such as pushability, torque, and trackability, enabled by a transition between a biaxial catheter segment and a coaxial catheter segment. In an exemplary embodiment a biaxial-coaxial lumen configuration facilitates injection of fluids through the catheter and out of the catheter proximal to its distal tip end with a guidewire in place in the catheter.

  • Publication number: 20200254214
Abstract: The invention features is an embodiment of methods and devices that comprise a multilumen portal vein access device, comprising at least a lumen for passage of a needle or needle-tipped guide wire that is used for piercing the liver from a hepatic vein position to a branch of the portal vein through the substance of the liver, and at least one other lumen that is use for passage of a guide wire, said other lumen and guide wire serving the function of preserving the position of the portal vein access device within the hepatic vein, thereby facilitating multiple attempts at puncturing the portal vein without the need to select the hepatic vein with separate maneuvers between needle advancement attempts.

  • Patent number: 6456675
Abstract: The quality of a channel for each of a plurality of receive antennas is determined in part by examining data collected during reception of test data. Substantially simultaneously, payload data is also used to evaluate channel quality for at least one antenna. A quality metric calculated for any given antenna is the result of measurements made upon the test and payload data. Parameters used to calculate the quality metric are preferably divided into two sets of non-identical parameters, those based on the test data and those based on the payload data. These parameters preferably include jitter, received signal strength, CRC errors and synchronization errors. By continuously updating quality metrics based on both test and payload data, more reliable assessments can be made of the various antennas being used. As a result, antenna selection is rendered commensurately more reliable thereby improving received signal quality.

  • Patent number: 5987060
Abstract: The invention provides radio communications with an up-down signal link. In accordance with the purpose of the invention, as embodied and broadly described herein, the invention is directed to a method, system and computer readable medium with program instructions (hereafter collectively referred to as "the invention"). The invention includes receiving a downstream signal in a receiver portion of an outdoor unit, producing in the receiver portion of the outdoor unit an intermediate frequency (IF) signal from the downstream signal, and processing the IF signal in the receiver portion of the outdoor unit to produce a clean line code signal.
