  • Publication number: 20100048787
Abstract: A stain composition includes a stable blend of a light fast dye, a pigment, a hydrocarbon solvent, an alkyd resin, and a compatibilizer solvent. The stain composition may further include one or more oxygenated solvents in addition to the compatibilizer solvent, which may be a glycol ether solvent. The compositions of the present invention facilitate replacing, in a single tinting step, the separate dye tinting and pigment tinting steps used in conventional wood finishing schedules.

  • Publication number: 20070127322
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for managing control path commands in an automated data storage library. The present invention teaches a data storage library with stored data and at least one controller. The present invention also teaches at least one command source that provides commands to the data storage library via at least one control path. The data storage library stores a last successful command for each control path in the data storage library, receives a new command from a control path, compares the new command with one or more of the last successful commands, and executes the new command if the new command is unique.

  • Publication number: 20070022240
Abstract: A method for assigning element addresses in an automated data storage library includes determining if a data storage device, such as a tape cartridge, belongs to a particular host's cartridge assignment policy. If so, the data storage device is issued a virtual import/export element address taken from a set of non-common virtual import/export element addresses, if available. If no non-common address is available, then a common virtual import/export element address is assigned to the data storage device. If no addresses, either common or non-common, are available, then the data storage device is queued until an address becomes available.

  • Publication number: 20060224881
Abstract: An apparatus and method are disclosed for managing component identifiers in a data storage system. The apparatus includes a recognition module, a receiving module, a comparison module, and an update module. The recognition module recognizes newly installed components. The receiving module receives a component identifier stored on the newly installed component. The comparison module compares the identifier of the newly installed component with one or more component identifiers stored in a computer system memory. The update module updates the one or more component identifiers stored in the system memory based upon the identifier of the newly installed component.

  • Publication number: 20050080964
Abstract: A method to provide redundant accessor availabilty in an automated data storage library. The method provides a data storage and retrieval system comprising one or more data storage devices a robot accessor and a gripper. Either at the same time or at a later time, the user obtains a second gripper and/or a second accessor. The method allows selection and/or authorization for additional support from the second gripper and/or the second accessor upon request and authorization. The redundant accessor capabilities are provided on an honor system for payment for the additional capability, and/or uses a system for tracking the redundant accessor usage, and/or uses license keys or other controls that must be obtained prior to enabling redundant accessor capabilities.
