  • Patent number: 5579598
Abstract: An electric luminous display unit for conveying visual information including a housing comprising an opaque front face portion of substantially rigid molded plastic, an elongated groove in the front face portion of the housing, inert gas-containing glass tubing located in the groove and extending therealong, and electrical means located behind the front face portion of the housing and electrically connected to ends of the glass tubing for supplying electrical energy to illuminate the same. In one embodiment, an edge-lighted board is described for receiving written information thereon.

  • Patent number: 5541823
Abstract: A housing assembly for protective support of illuminated glass tubing of the neon tube type comprising a base section, a central section, and a transparent cover section, each having wall portions forming an open sided elongated channel, a support plate mounted in the central section, elongated glass tubing disposed in the cover section and supportably mounted on the support plate in fastening clips, the base, central, and cover sections being formed of resiliently deformable material, such as plastic, and being assembled in snap-fit relation with each other to enclose the open sides of the channels. End caps enclose ends of the cover and central channels and protect the glass tubing and an electrical transformer and wiring disposed therein against weather.

  • Patent number: 4666109
Abstract: An assembly for adjustably supporting a luminous tube of a neon sign comprising a clamp post having a C-shaped end portion for frictionally engaging and retaining an outer surface of a luminous tube therein, a tubular column telescopically receiving the clamp post into one end thereof for movement along the longitudinal axis of the column, a ball-shaped portion on the other end of the column engageable in a semi-spherical socket of a base for positional adjustment of the column and clamp post within a 360.degree. circle of movement, and means on the base for frictionally gripping a support member to provide positional adjustable support of a luminous tube in spaced relation therefrom. The clamp post, tubular column, and base are preferably formed of molded plastic and engage in snap-fit relation. Spring means are provided in the tubular column to bias the clamp post against movement along the longitudinal axis of the column.

  • Patent number: 4554864
Abstract: A portable food cooker for water smoker or direct heat cooking of food products comprising a support pedestal mounted on wheels and containing a heating unit, an open-ended wall section removably supported with a lower open end on the pedestal in communication with the heating unit and extending upwardly therefrom, a removable cover for closing the upper end of the wall section and defining with the pedestal and wall section a confined cooking compartment, one or more food support grills mounted at selected elevations in the compartment, and a pan located in the compartment below the grills and above the heating unit to contain water for water smoker cooking or, alternatively, fuel for direct heat cooking. The pan catches and contains material falling from food on the grill during the cooking operation, and an annular reservoir in the bottom of the wall section collects materials falling into the lower portion of the cooking compartment.
